Baby names

Tell me the names you wouldn't be brave enough to use

Always my favourite baby name lists.

The names I love but are too out there (even for me who's child has an unranked name) to use:

Boys:
Nemo
Zeus
Rubeus
Sherlock
Tokyo
Woody

Girls:
Bambi
Dolly
Birdie
Baby
Queenie
Pepper

Major guilty pleasure names BlushBlush my DP barely let me finish the sentence when suggesting these ones although I wouldn't have been brave enough to use them anyway 😂

My own! I’m Pakistani, my original name is shared with someone very well known for all the wrong reasons. Oddly enough I changed it as soon as I could.

I gave my son a ‘brave’ name, it couldn’t suit him anymore.

I wanted to call my daughter Coco. Such a cool name I thought. I had a boy, then another boy.
My grown up children assured me they were never going to call their children that ghastly name - so I named my dear cat Coco instead. She has never complained!Grin

I LOVED Tristan, Casper and Jasper but my OH decided that they were too ‘poncy’ 🤷🏻‍♀️ He wanted Paul, Mark or John.

For a girl I loved Cassidy, Jemima, Lucinda and Felicity. He liked Megan.

Needless to say, we had to compromise...

I really REALLY love Atlas and Artemis. Not sure if I'd be brave enough to use either of them, but I probably won't get a chance to find out because my boyfriend doesn't like either... Sad

Some other names I wonder whether I'd be brave enough to use: River (for a girl), Roman, Grey, Aspen...

I did also see someone on Facebook had named his son Odin - such a cool name! Shock I don't think I would be brave enough with that one though.

I've always loved Mercedes but didn't use it because I didn't want my daughter named after a car. DH and seriously considered Ozzie for DS1 but weren't brave enough sadly.

Girls -
Luna
Piper
Elowen
Aurora
Juno
Tigerlily

My DD has a floral name. She's feisty and fierce and actually would be able to pull off Tigerlily, but I'd never be brave enough to use it. I absolutely love Piper and but DH has always had his heart set on our name choice and as I also love the name that was decision made.

Boys -
Elijha
Cassius
Hendrix
Maverick
Sebastian
Jude
Diego

I have two boys and neither have a name on this list, although with my youngest I did actually choose a name that's a little more out there - Rupert - so I'm obviously getting braver (I love both my boys names though and they couldn't suit them more😊)

Boys: Orlando, Amadeus, Wolfgang
Girls: Melody

Bit of a musical theme going on, it seems!

I think Candida would be an utterly beautiful name, were it not for the yeast infection.

Most of mine have been listed. We have Balthazar, Lysander, Embla, Olympia and Vita. I do think that they suit their names.

I would love to have Oberon, Ariel and Percival, and Demeter, Antigone and Calliope.
