I go for more unusual names so I do see these as 'boring' (no offence), BUT I think James and George are both lovely and I'd use them if they weren't so popular - but they're classics so I think they'll always be popular Grin

HelloBb · 16/10/2019 18:47

I tend to like more unusual old names. I just can’t think of many. Hiram is one I forgot on the list. Maybe I can spice it up with an interesting middle name... or use these as middles...

Painfully boring...

HelloBb · 16/10/2019 18:50

OH and Giles/Gilles. Is there no way to edit a post?

Sorry very boring, James is always a good classic name though.

daisypond · 16/10/2019 18:52

I like them. Names like Paul are very unusual these days in the UK. I think it’s a top ten baby name in Germany though. I love James and Anthony.

MollyHuaCha · 16/10/2019 18:55

Lovely names.

No to Georges. Yes to all the others.

Spied · 16/10/2019 18:55

James is a lovely name.
The others are a little 'boring' to me personally.

Tractorgirlz · 16/10/2019 18:56

I like boring. I hate the trend of people trying to be really unique, it makes me cringe.

FatAndFurious7 · 16/10/2019 18:59

Just the fact that you're asking if they're boring tells you already kinda think they are.

FWIW I love James and Louis, and theres absolutely nothing wrong with a classic 'boring' name.

But if you already sort of feel like that, dont pick something you might regret. Once the baby is born and named you'll be surprised how people stop having an opinion on names (at least to your face!).

daisypond · 16/10/2019 19:10

Giles is good too.

Iknowacrackingowlsanctuary · 16/10/2019 19:16

3 of those names make up DS1 & 2’s first and middle names. Only one missing is Alexander 🙈

I like to think of them as classics that won’t date 🤷🏻‍♀️😂

formerbabe · 16/10/2019 19:16

I like them all except Paul and Philip.

They are classic and not boring.

HelloBb · 16/10/2019 20:29

Thanks all.. maybe I can use a more uncommon name with it to help with the dullness... any old (think 1800’s-early 1900’s) unusual name suggestions would be awesome.

Like Hiram, Floyd, Giles...
Thx!

@HelloBb I like Lloyd more than Floyd Smile

Ivysaurus · 16/10/2019 20:53

Albert, Arthur, David, Ian, Stanley, Harold, ooh I love Edward for a little boy, saw a boy of about 2 with that name and it really suited

june2007 · 16/10/2019 20:55

I think they re save options, if you like them then go for one or two of them.

Aquamarine1029 · 16/10/2019 20:57

Ephraim
Wilfred
Martin
Asa
Ezra
Sylvester
Royce

Lavenderblues · 16/10/2019 21:05

Yes, boring.

I would choose Anthony as I know the least people with that name and it's the least boring.

whitesockss · 16/10/2019 21:06

Fenn

Dangerousminds · 16/10/2019 21:10

I love Louis, I don’t think that’s boring at all.
James and George maybe a bit boring, the others I’d say are very dated.

turnthebiglightoff · 16/10/2019 21:12

George is a gorgeous name.

RachelEllenR · 16/10/2019 21:14

I really like Louis, James and George. I don't think they're boring. I think they're classic and strong.

VenusClapTrap · 16/10/2019 21:17

I love Paul actually. You never hear that on anyone young these days.
