What do people think? I’m really struggling with a name for DD2 and this is the only one that has come to me - hadn’t considered it first time round. Really don’t like Viv so nickname would be Vivi/Vivvy? But obviously wouldn’t be able to control what she ends up as. Middle name suggestions also welcome! Thank you Smile

I like it. Yes there’s a big risk it could just end up as Viv even if you kept saying “vivi”, viv is just much easier to say (I know this because I know a Vivienne who kept trying to be vivi)

But yes I like the name

Middle names

Edith
Clementine
Delilah
Emma
Roxanne
Ottilie

Margaret

@Herewegoagain84 whats DD1 called

isayhitocats · 16/10/2019 16:49

It's such a beautiful name

MissHenty · 16/10/2019 16:49

How about Sylvia if you like Vivienne

isayhitocats · 16/10/2019 16:50

And if I had a girl she'd be Vivienne Rose

diddlediddle · 16/10/2019 16:53

I like it, a know a 2 yo Vivienne. I think it's classic but unusual.

You are going to get some people saying they don't like it. That will be the case for any name though, so if it's the only one you like then go for it. I think you can control nns to some extent - Vivi is perfectly acceptable and you can correct people if you like. I don't personally think people will shorten a little girls name to Viv, it's a bit of a Middle Aged nn, Vivi is more natural for a child.

Middle names - I prefer middle names with meaning, such as a family name or some other meaningful connection.

EugeniaGrace · 16/10/2019 16:54

Vivienne Adele
Vivienne Clara

Do you have any other favourites for a module name? I think lots of names would go.

Herewegoagain84 · 16/10/2019 17:03

@MissHenty DD1 is Anna which I love - strong/classic/elegant. Does Vivienne go with it do you think?

OP posts:
PandasMum · 16/10/2019 17:04

I think it’s lovely very elegant

diddlediddle · 16/10/2019 17:26

I think Anna and Vivienne go beautifully

MissHenty · 16/10/2019 17:46

@Herewegoagain84 omg you have such good taste- Anna is a gorgeous name

I slightly prefer anna to Vivienne just because anna is so simple classic and beautiful

But I really do like Vivienne

I’ll have a think if any other ideas come to me. I like the name Willa.

WillowLeClerc · 16/10/2019 17:56

I love it! It’s my favourite name and if DH liked it dd would have been Vivienne Elizabeth. Viv isn’t my favourite nickname and I’d have aimed for Vivvy but when it came down to it, my love for Vivienne outweighed any concerns I would have had about her becoming Viv.

Peachbubble · 16/10/2019 18:18

I like it, with Vivi as a nn. Also think it goes really well with Anna.

MissHenty · 16/10/2019 18:19

@WillowLeClerc why didn’t your husband like it and what did you end up calling DD instead of Vivienne

daisypond · 16/10/2019 18:49

I like it but much prefer Vivien. Vivienne has a different, French, pronunciation with the stress on the last syllable.

meow1989 · 16/10/2019 18:57

I really like it but would worry about being mispronounced vivian.

pinksquash13 · 16/10/2019 19:05

I like it. We have a Vivienne in school and she is called Viv by all. I'm not sure you can avoid that nickname!

reginafelangee · 16/10/2019 19:15

Beautiful but don't shorten it. Go with Vivienne on Vivian

Herewegoagain84 · 16/10/2019 20:04

Thank you so much for the feedback - I’m glad people seem to like it!

I agree with @daisypond about Vivien. I would pronounce Vivienne differently, more like vivi-EN.

userabcname · 16/10/2019 20:34

I love this name! I think it's beautiful. I don't mind the nickname Viv either.

Charley50 · 16/10/2019 20:35

My lovely colleague was called Vivienne. "2 V's 2 i's 2 e's and 2 n's"
She was mainly only called Viv.

allthegoodusernameshavegone · 16/10/2019 20:37

It’s lovely

june2007 · 16/10/2019 20:38

But you know people will call her Viv. I have known a Vivienne, but I also think of the character from the young ones.
