Elodie!

itsgettingweird · 13/10/2019 13:56

Tamsyn. Nice enough
Savannah I do like this a lot.
Ember not for me!
Freya lovely timeless and classic
Emmeline I know 1. Again classic and nice
Elodie not for me
Francesca my favourite from your list
Talitha nope! Like Tabitha though
Azalea not for me
Tegan not my favourite but nice enough name
Felicity again lovely timeless and classic.

I also like Frances which Francesca can be shortened too!

MadameJosephine · 13/10/2019 14:02

Felicity is my absolute favourite, beautiful name.

Love Emmeline too but would worry about people mishearing and calling her Emily all the time

geojojo · 13/10/2019 14:13

Felicity, Emmeline and Freya are my favourites.

Absolutely love Emmeline and considered it for my dd but whenever I mentioned it to people they thought I said Emily so thought hat might be an issue. Love Emmy though.

Felicity is very pretty and lovely meaning.

Freya is nice but quite popular for preschoolers around here if that puts you off at all.

goldandpink · 13/10/2019 14:14

@MadameJosephine that's my main concern about Emmeline too. Love it though

I wouldn't let that put you off - that's only a problem that might occur when your daughter first meets people. Once they learn her actual name they're not going to keep mistaking it for Emily. It's a lovely name.

Butterfly005 · 13/10/2019 14:21

Sorry that first part should've been in bold!

Thatnovembernight · 13/10/2019 14:28

My favourite on your list is Emmeline. I knew an Emmeline who was called Emmy for short but also had other nicknames. Great name, classic, underused and a strong woman’s name in view of Emmeline Pankhurst.

I also like Talitha and has it on my list intending to use Tally for short. I think a character has that name in the book They Lost Art of Keeping Secrets’.

I used to like Eloide but a bit too popular at the moment for my liking.

Thatnovembernight · 13/10/2019 14:29

Had not has! My baby naming days are over!

goldandpink · 13/10/2019 14:34

May be taking this a bit too seriously and far too much time on my hands (all will change when she's born!)

Emmeline and Felicity currently top of the leaderboard 😂

@goldandpink 🤣

I’m surprised more people aren’t bothered about Franny as a nickname. I’d absolutely hate it. Both the Francesca’s I know are “Franny” 😬

goldandpink · 13/10/2019 15:02

@MissHenty DP fancies Frankie as a nickname. I'm less keen and would be inclined to use the full name but Frankie is ok. i like chesca too. I haven't heard it shortened to franny before but could well happen!

MadameJosephine · 13/10/2019 15:06

I’d stick with Felicity if I were you. DD’s dad hated it so i couldn’t use it, same with Verity which has a similar vibe

tisonlymeagain · 13/10/2019 15:07

From your list I like Emmeline, Elodie and Felicity.

071019DD · 13/10/2019 15:30

Another vote for Emmeline from me!

MissHenty · 13/10/2019 15:42

I see people saying Elodie is popular but it’s number 143 in the name charts so hardly a top 10! I’ve never met an elodie yet

Underhisi · 13/10/2019 15:54

I like Freya, Emmeline, Francesca (nn Frankie) and Felicity. Favourite is Felicity

singswithitsfingers · 13/10/2019 16:29

The Francescas I know are known as Fran or Ces. I think it's a lovely name.

Runningsmooth · 13/10/2019 16:43

Tamsyn - no.
Savannah - don't like
Ember - don't like
Freya - not keen
Emmeline - lovely, I'd choose this
Elodie - quite like this.
Francesca - no, don't like Fran
Talitha - no! (unless you meant Tabitha then yes!)
Azalea - no!
Tegan - NO!
Felicity - yes, lovely

daisypond · 13/10/2019 16:45

Tamsyn - not this spelling. It’s short for Thomasina, which I really like.
Savannah- OK
Ember- dying ashes? Amber is nice.
Freya— OK
Emmeline- dated by at least 25 years. Emmie is twee. If Theresa a better short form I would like it.
Elodie - bland
Francesca- I like this a lot. Shortened to Franca.
Talitha- OK-ish
Azalea- OK for a hippyish vibe
Tegan- not keen
Felicity- yes

CravingCheese · 13/10/2019 16:52

Tamsyn: is that related to Thomasine (which I happen to find gorgeous)? It looks a but clumsy with the y imo. Tamsin would be better.

Savannah: ok.

Ember: it's ok.

Freya: yes

Emmeline: boring but nice really .

Elodie: ok

Francesca: beautiful.

Talitha: I could come to really like that one, I believe.

Azalea: not a fan but ok.

Tegan: I don't like it.

Felicity: really nice.

mrssunshinexxx · 13/10/2019 16:53

What about Emmison ? @goldandpink

Grumpymcgrumperson · 13/10/2019 16:57

I like Elodie. HATE Felicity and Tamsyn. Talitha is nice

Grumpymcgrumperson · 13/10/2019 16:58

Oh and I also like Savannah! But don’t tell Mumsnet ... Savannah seems to be on the Mumsnet most hated list for some reason!

Ludways · 13/10/2019 17:06

Like
Francesca
Savannah
Felicity
Freya

Don't like
Talitha
Tegan
Emmeline
Tamsyn
