Want something a bit different for dd2! What do you think of each name?

What’s your dd1 called if you don’t mind me asking @Plantbabies

I wouldn’t pick Maxine because it makes me think of Maxine Car

I’d go with Georgia

RueCambon · 09/10/2019 17:31

Georgina
Maxine... im not ready for it yet.

NearLifeExperience · 09/10/2019 17:44

Maxine... good strong name!

bridgetreilly · 09/10/2019 17:49

Georgina. Though I admit, I don't love either.

BoswellsBollocks · 09/10/2019 17:51

Neither a good choice for a newborn.

If you were naming a 46 year old however...

Winterlogs · 09/10/2019 18:31

Georgina or how about Georgia?

Maxine is awful, sorry

Debbiecurtbag · 09/10/2019 18:40

Of the two it has to be Georgina.

mintich · 09/10/2019 18:42

Georgina is lovely

Pieceofpurplesky · 09/10/2019 18:42

Georgina and Maxine are 43 and were in the tough group of girls at school!

Raera · 09/10/2019 18:46

The Maxine I knew will be 61 and bullied me at school.
Georgina, Georgia or Georgie are all lovely

071019DD · 09/10/2019 18:51

Georgina gets my vote. I like Georgia and Georgiana (is that how you spell?!!) too! Good luck...

AverageMummy · 09/10/2019 18:56

Georgina but I love Georgiana

GracefulHare · 09/10/2019 19:00

Another one bullied by a Maxine! Seemed to be the hard girl's name of the 80s. Prefer Georgina.

Bucatini · 09/10/2019 19:01

I prefer Georgina (or Georgia)

Raera · 09/10/2019 19:03

Yes to Georgiana!
Georgie for a nick name when she's little

VenusClapTrap · 09/10/2019 20:30

The Maxine I knew was a mean girl too. I was terrified of her, back in the early eighties.

MikeUniformMike · 09/10/2019 20:34

I like both but would pick Maxine

georgialondon · 09/10/2019 20:46

Definitely Georgina but I much prefer other George derivatives like Georgette or Georgia,

Never Maxine. I think the most (in)famous one that comes instantly to mind is Maxine Carr. Not a great association for a child's name.

user1493494961 · 09/10/2019 20:51

Definitely Georgina, Maxine is dreadful, agree with pp, I think of someone rough and tough.

LarkDescending · 09/10/2019 20:52

Georgina by a mile for me. I don’t like Maxine at all.

Oly4 · 09/10/2019 20:55

Georgina.. but prefer Georgia. Maxine is awful.

Ellmau · 09/10/2019 20:58

Maxine feels more dated.

123Dancewithme · 09/10/2019 21:08

Georgina.

Cheerfullygo4 · 09/10/2019 21:51

Both grim.

1066vegan · 09/10/2019 21:56

My first association is with Maxine Peake so much more positive than Maxine Carr. Still not keen. Too 70s for me.

Georgina's ok, but I prefer Georgie or Georgia.
