What are your impressions of the name Maximilian, called Max day to day? Middle name and surname are one syllable each so think the longer version works with them.

I know one, he's 20 now and it suits him
Always called Max day to day

MissHenty · 03/10/2019 13:48

I like it

StrikingMatches · 03/10/2019 13:49

I love this name. Can be used in full when he's grown up or shortened to Max or Maxim.

Bytheseamummy · 03/10/2019 14:42

Positive so far! Smile What kind of person does it make you think of?

I have a Max.

Just Max.

He’s 17 and absolutely loves his name.
Short.
Strong.
Carries well from child to teenage.

Morado · 03/10/2019 16:10

I love it. Doesn't make me think of any type of person. I never like that type of question!

Roselilly36 · 03/10/2019 16:16

My DH favourite boys name. We didn’t use it as already a Max in our extended family. It’s a lovely name though.

MikeUniformMike · 03/10/2019 17:31

I like it. It makes me think of a friend's only GC.

daisypond · 03/10/2019 17:32

I really like it.

AverageMummy · 03/10/2019 19:43

I love it
I think it suits any time of child - I’d have no specific connotations

Naomimi · 03/10/2019 20:08

My husband’s name! I absolutely love it. Sounds strong, capable and down-to-earth, but also very distinguished in full.

finallychangedmyusername · 03/10/2019 20:10

Love it!

cornstarch · 03/10/2019 20:15

Very nice

kelly14 · 03/10/2019 20:16

My 18 month old is Maximo, called max day to day though. I love it as never heard of it before.

Booboostwo · 03/10/2019 20:22

I have a Maximilian, called Max day to day. I am not sure why we bothered with the long version to be honest, but he’s young so maybe he will decide to use the long version later on.

DramaAlpaca · 03/10/2019 20:24

It's too much name for me. I prefer just Max.

Pidgythe2nd · 03/10/2019 20:26

Much prefer Max.
It’s a bit too try hard. Sorry!

Astronica · 04/10/2019 07:34

Love it. I think of a debonair guy, smart and a bit cheeky.

Inlovewitharagorn · 04/10/2019 08:20

I like it. I prefer Maxim as a full name but Maximilian is fine.
Max is a great name.

Bytheseamummy · 04/10/2019 16:28

Thanks for your thoughts. I've ummed and ahhed about whether to use the full name or just Max but feel like because our surname is one syllable the full name is the best idea. It also gives him choices when he's older. And today I realised it ends with Ian which is my Dad's name so it's a little nod to him too! Smile

Ah that’s lovely OP
Glad you’ve decided

I've never known one who actually gets called Maximilian or who would prefer to be. Max is fine on its own.

lady3009 · 04/10/2019 17:32

We have a Maximilian and husband calls him that, he is Max for me though Smile
Love the name

AllFourOfThem · 04/10/2019 17:38

I think it’s quite popular with Max in particular being a nickname for several longer names. It’s also dateless as I know all different generations.
