Looking for opinions on Calista?
Is it too unusual to use?
Do you think its a "pretty" name for a girl? That would fit well all through life?
Would it go nicely with Noah and Jacob?
Thank you Smile

I think it's very pretty. Unusual but I know how to spell it.

Witchofzog · 02/10/2019 21:57

I think it's pretty. Wasn't the Ally Mcbeal actress called Calista Flockhart? Its quite American but lovely too

Frazzled2207 · 02/10/2019 21:59

Showing my age but I immediately think Calista Flockart (Ally McBeal).

GeoffreyAndBungle · 02/10/2019 22:01

What a lovely name , goes well with the others.

daisydalrymple · 02/10/2019 22:04

Pretty but not twee. Quite graceful too. I also think Ali Mcbeal. Goes perfectly with your two names.

I like it. I prefer Calla though.

DramaAlpaca · 03/10/2019 00:49

Very nice, and goes well with your boys. It's pretty without being over fussy & suits all ages I think.

Gummibaerchen1 · 03/10/2019 08:46

Beautiful name!

Unusual is good, there won't be others in her class!

MissHenty · 03/10/2019 09:56

I don’t really like it sorry! I find it really hard to pronounce and just because it’s unusual doesn’t mean people will remember the name. I have already forgotten it just while I was typing this message 🤣

Unusual names for girls that I like are names like “Willa” that have more memorable sounds to them and are easy and straightforward to spell

Gummibaerchen1 · 03/10/2019 13:40

How is Calista hard to pronounce?

I love it and would remember Calista's name better than say Evie's or Ellie's.

user1573354 · 03/10/2019 13:42

I really like it, but do prefer Calliope, which I think you should consider :) would end up with the same NN for both.

thisisthetime · 03/10/2019 13:44

Love it

Wheelson · 03/10/2019 13:56

Calliope?
How do you pronounce that?

MissHenty · 03/10/2019 13:57

@Gummibaerchen1 I’m the total opposite 🤣 names like emma or Evie stick in my head. There’s a lady that lives near to me call “Starr” and honestly I constantly forget her name and think she’s called either “Storm” or “Sunny”. Always have to look it up. My other neighbour is called Claire and I never forget that. Guess everyone’s different!

I find Calista hard to pronounce. It just doesn’t sound like a name to me at all and I find it really forgettable sorry 🙈

midsomermurderess · 03/10/2019 14:00

Cal ly o pee. Emphasis on the 'ly'.

Wheelson · 03/10/2019 14:05

@midsomermurderess I find it hard to see how that's easier to pronounce that Calista but oh well! Thanks for the info!

Wheelson · 03/10/2019 14:06

Sorry just realised the poster didn't say it was easier to pronounce! Anyway, I think Calista sounds much nicer than Calliope!

Witchofzog · 03/10/2019 14:50

How about Kalissa as an alternative. That's pretty too

user1493494961 · 03/10/2019 15:00

I prefer Lily Rose.

s3tut0y3r · 03/10/2019 20:41

It is a pretty name. Unusual yet not zany. This is a classy name.

VenusClapTrap · 03/10/2019 22:59

I don’t like it.

Inlovewitharagorn · 03/10/2019 23:50

I love it. And love Callie or Calla as a NN.

lottiegarbanzo · 03/10/2019 23:56

Nice and I like Callie as a nn.

Goes very well with your boys.

CakeRattleandRoll · 04/10/2019 06:38

Calista is a lovely name. Perfect choice.
