Do you like the name?

Do you know anyone called Boudicca?

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
SewMuchForThat · 02/10/2019 01:38

No
And no.

Topseyt · 02/10/2019 01:43

No. It is awful.

I know about the historical context of the name, but it is still awful.

safariboot · 02/10/2019 01:51

Do you want her to grow up to lead a violent armed rebellion against an oppressive government? Grin

alexdgr8 · 02/10/2019 01:55

No, don't do it.
imagine your poor daughter starting secondary school, having to sigh, be embarrassed and say I know, my parents were weird, would-be hippies/ pretentious prats; and hoping classmates will take pity on her rather than make her life a misery.
this is what will happen, even in a private school.
please think of the child encumbered with such odd names, just for a whim. call the dog that instead. it won't get bullied/embarrassed.

CendrillonSings · 02/10/2019 01:58

Icenit around from time to time...

ThunderThorn · 02/10/2019 01:58

Went to school with a girl called Boudicca, her nickname was Bodhi (however you want to spell it), she didn't like saying her full name though

thatmustbenigelwiththebrie · 02/10/2019 02:33

HmmHmmHmmHmm

Gingerkittykat · 02/10/2019 02:45

Truly awful.

LoreleiRock · 02/10/2019 02:48

cheeseandpickle247 · 02/10/2019 02:50

littleorangecat22 · 02/10/2019 02:59

NO/

littleorangecat22 · 02/10/2019 03:00

*NO! (Dislike so much it made me make a typo!)

Hundredacrewoods · 02/10/2019 03:03

Would you like to be called Boudicca? Can you honestly say that in 100% of situations you’ve encountered in your life, you’d always have been confident enough to introduce yourself as Boudicca?

Mummaofmytribe · 02/10/2019 03:20

I get why you like it, it has great, powerful conations, (sp?)but it's a huge name to carry around. I think it's one of those names that could be a burden.

Mothership4two · 02/10/2019 03:21

@CendrillonSings

Grin
Mothership4two · 02/10/2019 03:26

Do you like the name? No

Do you know anyone called Boudicca? Only the original one

It's not a particularly pleasant sounding name and there are several different ways to pronounce it.

user1493494961 · 02/10/2019 08:01

She could be Dic for short.

JoanieCash · 02/10/2019 08:05

I’ve worked with two, but not with that spelling: one Malaysian male and one Sri Lankan female, both spelt Bhuddika.

BeanBag7 · 02/10/2019 08:07

No I wouldnt use it. Too long, complicated to spell and say, has big connotations, doesn't have nickname... and frankly I dont think it sounds like a name.

Justfivemoreminutesplease · 02/10/2019 08:07

Yes.
My dog.

Ethelswith · 02/10/2019 08:08

Yes,

And yes, she's a terrier and it suits her

AverageMummy · 02/10/2019 09:36

No

And of course not Grin

NataliaOsipova · 02/10/2019 09:40

Icenit around from time to time...

😂😂😂😂

Seriously - don’t! What if she ends up being a quiet, shy little girl? It has very definite associations.

Bishbosh84 · 02/10/2019 09:42

I think we all know one Boudicca OP...

FuckOffBoris · 02/10/2019 09:43
