Ariah?

Do you say it like Aria (GOT character), A-rye-ah, or A-ree-ah?

sashamichele · 01/10/2019 21:02

Ar-ree-ah

BertrandRussell · 01/10/2019 21:04

However the person told me to.

What culture is it from?

MonaChopsis · 01/10/2019 21:05

I would default to A-rye-ah, to rhyme with Mariah, if I saw that written down.

Oakandlove · 01/10/2019 21:28

A-rye-ah is what came to mind as I also thought of Mariah but I guess A-ree-ah is just as valid.

user1493494961 · 01/10/2019 21:33

I would pronounce it Ah-ria.

TildaTurnip · 01/10/2019 21:34

I’d guess Ar-ee-ah

DramaAlpaca · 01/10/2019 21:35

Unless told otherwise I'd pronounce it to rhyme with Mariah.

Seaandsand83 · 01/10/2019 21:36

Rhymes with Mariah (carey)

SyrilSneer · 01/10/2019 21:36

The H makes me rhyme it with Mariah and Uriah so A-rye-ah. Aria says Ah-ree-a to me.

SleepWarrior · 01/10/2019 21:38

The H makes me think it rhymes with Mariah.

pasbeaucoupdegendarme · 01/10/2019 21:39

I’d pronounce it as in the musical term.

mclover · 01/10/2019 21:40

Same - as the musical term. And I'd think it had been misspelt. Aria is better

RebeccaCloud9 · 01/10/2019 21:44

To rhyme with Mariah

whiteroseredrose · 01/10/2019 21:47

A rye a

KatherineJaneway · 01/10/2019 21:49

I'd pronounce it like Mariah without the M.

jmscp · 01/10/2019 21:49

The GOT character is Arya not Aria.

The way you've spelt as PP have said is Mariah without the M Smile

Lettucecrunch · 01/10/2019 22:34

Like Mariah without the M. Pretty name

Whoops75 · 01/10/2019 22:38

Same as the others (m)airah

MileyWiley · 01/10/2019 22:46

ah-ree-ah

Gummibaerchen1 · 01/10/2019 22:47

As it's written: A-ri-ah

NumberblockNo1 · 01/10/2019 22:51

Id have said area, as in width times length.

GinasGirl · 01/10/2019 22:51

A-ri-ah.

SlothRunner · 01/10/2019 22:52

Ar-ee-ah

AverageMummy · 01/10/2019 23:04

Like a musical aria

KronksSpinachPuffs · 01/10/2019 23:21

I'd pronounce it ar-ree-ah

But the game of thrones character is pronounced ar-ya (2 syllables not 3). The character in pretty little liars is pronounced ar-ee-ah though.
