Francis

He is ginger with freckles and glasses. He’s lanky and is interested in train spotting and nature. He collects dead butterfly specimens which he keeps framed on his bedroom wall. He’s never had a girlfriend but his mum still holds out hope.

CatteStreet · 30/09/2019 12:36

Really lovely name. I know a very cool one.

BertieBotts · 30/09/2019 12:40

Very posh.

Puppilangstrumpfi · 30/09/2019 12:42

What is he like Hmm?

I'd assume a boy but not much else really..! Why would there be a correlation between a persons name and character?!

banskuwansku · 30/09/2019 12:51

Like Francis Urquhart from House of Cards.

AnneTwackie · 30/09/2019 12:55

If he gets called Frankie for short or has French blood I’d assume he’s quite cool, middle class, outdoorsy, sporty. If he’s always Francis and no french family connection I’d think he was a bit too sensitive, bookish, quiet.

MrsRufusdog789 · 30/09/2019 13:00

He loves animals and birds and is an absolute saint . Likes to visit Assisi for his hols .

MissHenty · 30/09/2019 13:11

What other names are you thinking of @PSL1990

Frankley · 30/09/2019 13:12

Lovely name. Would be a very nice boy, but get annoyed if anyone spells it Frances.

FizzyGreenWater · 30/09/2019 13:53

Oh sorry one of my very least favourites.

Sounds sneering somehow. I imagine someone who isn't very friendly.

I dislike the shape of the word in the way I dislike Eugene, Nigel etc. There's something quite perfume-y about it, like it's a made up slightly overfussy thing.

There you go, some top-notch overthinking!!!!

Beamur · 30/09/2019 13:56

Chum of mine has a Frankie. Presumably Francis but never referred to as such.
Not a common name.
I might think Catholic. (Like my friend)
I like it.

steppemum · 30/09/2019 14:05

my middle name is Frances, and I love it for a girl.
really don't like it for a boy.
I do liek it with Frankie as a nn, so if it was a family, or a special reason to use it, I'd do that.

Bobthefishermanswife · 30/09/2019 14:35

Parents are either French or Religious.

Mammyloveswine · 30/09/2019 14:45

I love Francis... Frankie for short!

Puppilangstrumpfi · 30/09/2019 14:46

Francis is really rare in France! Much more popular in the UK!

Trixie121 · 30/09/2019 14:47

I have to agree with @FizzyGreenWater I personally don't like it reminds me of someone who is snobbish and stuck up. I also thought it was more of a girls name than a boys but maybe I'm wrong. I do like frankie though it's quite a trendy name, far cooler than Frances.

manicmij · 30/09/2019 16:21

Bit old fashioned but then a lot of the traditional names are fashionable now. Frankie as nn seems more for females now.

SleepingStandingUp · 30/09/2019 16:26

Ginger with freckles, skinny. He's a bookworm who studies hard and is pretty clever. His family are middle class

cptartapp · 30/09/2019 16:35

Effeminate. Like a Spencer.

Moonflower12 · 30/09/2019 17:05

He has really blue eyes and sings well- especially swing songs!

Littlepond · 30/09/2019 17:06

He is blonde and kind.

Honeyroar · 30/09/2019 17:07

It sounds like a female name, even if spelt differently.

Puppilangstrumpfi · 30/09/2019 17:08

He is dark haired and patient

formerbabe · 30/09/2019 17:09

Useless in a fight

Spied · 30/09/2019 17:09

He's a bit of an outsider. A bit weird.
Loved by adults and teachers but an outcast to his peers.
He is an only child with older parents.
