So after added Georgina with the nickname Georgie onto a thread yesterday I’ve decided I actually really like the name. Thoughts please? Grin

Fussy, 1980's.

Georgiana much better.

Whattodoabout · 26/09/2019 12:33

Hate it. I have never met a nice Georgina, they have always been twats of the highest order.

intermittentfasting · 26/09/2019 15:44

Honestly, it makes me think of 'vagina' and it also gives me images if someone's over frilly aunt.

Rachelover60 · 26/09/2019 15:56

Very good name. So are Gwendoline and Geraldine.

Geneva1995 · 26/09/2019 18:18

I think we are going to go with Georgina and Georgie as nn. Thanks everyone for your comments 🤣 so excited we have finally agreed.

I love Georgina, have one in the family, known as Gina.

That's not really the way this forum works. People will keep posting on threads for as long as they want.

WheresTheEvidence · 26/09/2019 19:23

I'm a Georgina but hate Georgie especially when its then continued with the rhyme. Love my name though.

Goawayquickly · 26/09/2019 19:28

Georgina and Georgia are among my all time favourite names.

HalfManHalfLabrador · 26/09/2019 19:32

There are a lot of 40 year olds called Georgina in Ireland it would not be used here now it’s like ‘Sharon’ or ‘Tracey’.

Geneva1995 · 26/09/2019 19:38

@intermittentfasting Eugh I meant in a light hearted way because we’ve decided on the name regardless ? Lighten up

@HalfManHalfLabrador oh really! I’ll stay away from Ireland then ;)

Ahh I love Georgina - my late Mum's name, she was from Northern Ireland. My English Georgina friends go by George or Georgie

NatashaRomanov · 26/09/2019 20:48

Love it.

HeartvsHead · 26/09/2019 22:27

My little girls name! She is almost 3. We tend to called her 'G' for short.

Struggling to find something we like as much for number 2 which is due very soon!

HappyEverIftar · 27/09/2019 07:42

My DM loved Georgina my DF overruled her and I have the quite dated now, but floral (family) name instead.

I'd have quite liked to have been a Georgina and all the nn options that go with that name.

Inlovewitharagorn · 27/09/2019 08:41

Love Georgina, Georgiana and Georgie.
Really loathe Georgia.

HedgeHogFoxBadger · 29/09/2019 21:32

I have a 13 yr old called Georgina although I call her genie most of the time. Didn’t like Georgie as a NN and Genie stuck! Although my dad calls her Gina!

Sparklypurpleunicornsaremyfav · 30/09/2019 08:27

As I said before, I love the name, are you thinking of a particular middle name?

SmiledWithTheRisingSun · 30/09/2019 08:42

I prefer Georgia.

Geneva1995 · 30/09/2019 11:18

@Sparklypurpleunicornsaremyfav middle name will be Elizabeth after my partners mum. So ‘Georgina Elizabeth’ :)
