I like it

Conceptionhelp · 22/09/2019 19:28

I like it :) I like the nickname Eli

KTD27 · 22/09/2019 19:29

Have one. Love him and the name. He’s an Eli and an Elijah. Ace.

Amys136 · 22/09/2019 19:30

Love it

ZeroFuchsGiven · 22/09/2019 19:32

I love it but for some strange unknown reason i just can't say it. My ds has a friend called Elija and I can't help but call him Eliza Confused

Shadow1234 · 22/09/2019 19:32

Really nice name

rededucator · 22/09/2019 19:34

I love it but it is definitely a soft effeminate name.

Honeybee0 · 22/09/2019 19:51

Thank you for your positive feedback.

Is the general consensus that Elijah is quite a feminine name?

OP posts:
kenandbarbie · 22/09/2019 20:16

I don't think it's feminine! It's biblical. Very nice.

Grufallosfriends · 22/09/2019 20:18

I don't like it at all, sorry. I too find it soft and feminine sounding.

Beautifullymixed · 22/09/2019 20:22

I have a four month old grandson named Elijah, also called Eli by his mother.
I love it!
A solid, traditional name, yet modern at the same time. What's not to love - and definitely not effeminate! Confused

StephenKingsHappyEnding · 22/09/2019 20:23

Beautiful name

Grufallosfriends · 22/09/2019 20:27

Eli as in Ellie?

LaPufalina · 22/09/2019 20:34

I love it
Eli that I know is pronounced ee-lie

Beautifullymixed · 22/09/2019 20:35

Eli is pronounced E - lie.
An independent name or used as a nickname.

MadameJosephine · 22/09/2019 20:39

I love it, don’t think it’s the slightest bit feminine. A friend of mine was planning to name her DS Elijah but changed her mind and went for Elias instead which is also lovely

I also love Eli as a name it’s its own right

AverageMummy · 22/09/2019 20:45

I don’t like it but it’s just not to my taste, I don’t think it sounds feminine no.

MikeUniformMike · 22/09/2019 20:47

I think it's a baby's name not a man's name. Eli is a bit too much of an old man's name.
Too OT.

jigsawmaniac · 22/09/2019 20:48

I think it's a great name; doesn't sound feminine to me.

Littlepond · 22/09/2019 20:48

Love the name Elijah and Eli is a cute shortening

SemperIdem · 22/09/2019 20:48

I really like it and absolutely love Eli as a nickname.

daisypond · 22/09/2019 21:04

I think it will date. Old Testament names are on their way out - they have been current for about 25 years, though not Elijah itself -and New Testament ones are coming back in. I don’t think it sounds feminine , though.

finallychangedmyusername · 22/09/2019 21:07

I love the name, very handsome.

womanvsfood · 22/09/2019 21:09

Have you tried writing it down? I have a relative called Elijah and every time I write in a card it looks and feels really awkward, and that puts me off a bit. Think it might be the i and j together - too many dots.

Emmy5159 · 22/09/2019 21:26

I have an Elijah!
We call him Eli for short. It's the only name DH and I could agree on. He's amazing a cheeky chappy! And the name suits him so we'll. It's a gorgeous name!! I am totally biased but I love it
