Boy/girl twins. What goes with....

Max.

We thought we had two girls. So had kind of matchy style names (Camille and Claudia) in the pipeline.

Neither of those is the girls' name I love, but I kind of didn't mind because there were two, so it wouldn't be like one had my favourite name over the other. I like both the names, but no more than like.

Now it's turned out they're definitely boy/girl. So the boy will be Max. And I can't think of anything I like other than the name I can't have, now it's only one girls name I need. (It's been what my daughter has always been called in my head for the last 20yrs, and literally a year ago, this bitch who's connected directly to our family stole it, and yes I am fucking bitter) Spam me with names that go with Max please. Help me find something I love...

Alexandra with nn of Sasha?
Otherwise I would suggest Seraphina/Seraphine

OhTheTastyNuts · 01/11/2019 19:17

Max and Eleanora/Nora

I'm not keen on Max and Saskia. I think the x in Max and the sk is Saskia are clunky together.

justilou1 · 01/11/2019 22:28

Max and Mina
Max and Nina
Max and Lana
Max and Gala
Max and Galina
Max and Mika
Mak and Lida
Max and Talya
Max and Tassia
Max and Greta
Max and Zenya
Max and Zola

Sorry to break with the trend here but I think you are putting way to much emphasis on a name here.i don't want to offend but at the end of the day 2 healthy well children are a real gift and so what if you can't use a name you always liked. There are loads of beautiful names out there and I definately wouldn't chose to give her the same name as her cousin. I do know couple of families who did this and there is a lot of bad feeling.

On a positive note.. My first instinct to go with max was Emily. I see a couple of others have suggested similar or if you like French variations what about Amalie or the more English Amelia or even Emme?

HarrietM87 · 02/11/2019 19:39

Tatiana (nn tanya) is like Anastasia without the Ana.

Or Vivienne?

Courtney555 · 02/11/2019 20:23

@harriet

I wouldn't think of that being shortened to Tanya, more Tatti (Tatty) or Ana (oh hell no)

Vivienne is really pretty but DH doesn't like it because of the forehead studded Ade Edmondson Hmm

Can you think of anything similar to Tatiana? I think we're on similar wavelengths...

Max and Eden
Max and Iris
Max and Poppy
Max and Delilah
Max and Ruby (I actually know a Max and Ruby, brother and sister, and they are my favourite kids out of all my friends' kids)
Max and Isabelle

WatchingFriendsOnRepeat · 02/11/2019 23:41

I love Teddie/Teddy for a girl. I have a boy called Teddy but if he had been a girl, it still would've been Teddie!

WatchingFriendsOnRepeat · 02/11/2019 23:41

In fact now I'm thinking about Max for the boy baby I'm carrying... hmmmm... thanks OP!

Wheat2Harvest · 02/11/2019 23:49

I really don't get this name stealing thing.

It wasn't until I joined MN that I realised that some people get really uppity and upset if someone else calls their child the name that they had chosen. I had honestly never heard of this before.

I called my children what I wanted to call them, and it didn't matter that others had chosen the same names. Nor did it worry me when people called their babies the names I chose for mine.

Call your daughter the name you have always wanted for a girl. You might never have another daughter.

seeingasyouareclueless · 03/11/2019 00:12

I can feel how disappointed and angry you are that you can't use the name that you have grown attached to. It seems really unfair. I agree with pp that you should definitely use it as a middle name.

I think you should choose a first name that compliments its use as a middle name. You should choose the girl's name based more on whether it goes with the name you love as a middle name rather than whether it matches her brother's name.

But it not knowing the name you love, these are my suggestions for baby girl name's that I think go with Max.

Max and Angelina
Max and Angelique
Tessa and Max
Max and Miriam
Zahoora and Max
Max and Evelyn
Max and Valerie (due a comeback I feel)
Faryal and Max
Jasmine and Max
Francesca / Frankie and Max (this is my favourite)

TenThousandSpoons · 03/11/2019 00:13

I feel sorry for poor little “Evangeline” whose dad doesn’t see her very often and whose aunt is seething over her name. She’s your niece and didn’t have any choice over her own name. Grow up and just choose a different name.
I vote Max and Eva.

jokerreturns · 03/11/2019 02:50

Max and Evelyn
Max and Elizabeth
Max and Grace
Max and Phoebe
Max and Imogen
Max and Martha
Max and Havana
Max and Amber
Max and Ruby
Max and Clarissa

jokerreturns · 03/11/2019 02:56

Meant to add
Max and Lydia

TwoPupsandaHamster · 03/11/2019 03:15

Max and Alex

Poppadomsy · 03/11/2019 04:12

Ophelia
Aurelia

Sorry if these have already been suggested!

seeingasyouareclueless · 03/11/2019 07:58

Anoushka

justchecking1 · 03/11/2019 15:19

If the name you live is close to Evangeline but isn't Evangeline, could you call her Evangeline?!

Courtney555 · 03/11/2019 15:38

Nope, Evangeline is an adult relative, married in. I just picked it as the example because I really like it, but not only is she Evangeline, her DM is too, and her DGM so if she has a daughter, that's her name. It would be a real dick move on my part to choose that uncommon name knowing what it is to her family and history.

I'm really late to the party here, but I just wanted to pop in to suggest you use the name YOU love, and if it bothers you so much, double barrel it to 'Evangeline Honor' or something (hard to suggest what to use as we don't know the actual name.)

You don't see this woman, nor do you care about her life or what she is doing, so don't base your life choices around her. You wouldn't throw away a top because you saw her wearing it would you? You like what you like and I honestly don't think any other name will come close if you really have your heart set on it.

It doesn't have to be tainted if you don't let it, you could even see this as a new chapter to let go of the hate and bring your loving meaning to the name. I really wouldn't let the past dictate your future. If you love it, use it!

jokerreturns · 04/11/2019 23:39

What about Agatha or Adele

Courtney555 · 05/11/2019 00:34

Agatha and Adele are not "frilly" enough...if that makes sense

You asked for similar to Tatiana so along the T name and/or Russian theme:

Tallia/Tahlia
Tallulah
Anastasia
Tasya
Tabitha
Tamara

Thanks, for both being an arse, whilst not even reading the thread properly. That's not the exact situation. It's an equivalent to demonstrate the proximity. As explained, but you know, as long as you got your two penneth in.

@LittleTopic

I do like Anastasia. But can't have any name shortened to Anna or Ana.

I've been googling names like Anastasia, and the suggestions are nothing like Anastasia. It's of those ones like Persephone, so unique that nothing is similar. If you can find me a strong likeness to Anastasia or Evangeline or Angelina? Flowers
