Boy/girl twins. What goes with....

Max.

We thought we had two girls. So had kind of matchy style names (Camille and Claudia) in the pipeline.

Neither of those is the girls' name I love, but I kind of didn't mind because there were two, so it wouldn't be like one had my favourite name over the other. I like both the names, but no more than like.

Now it's turned out they're definitely boy/girl. So the boy will be Max. And I can't think of anything I like other than the name I can't have, now it's only one girls name I need. (It's been what my daughter has always been called in my head for the last 20yrs, and literally a year ago, this bitch who's connected directly to our family stole it, and yes I am fucking bitter) Spam me with names that go with Max please. Help me find something I love...

My vote is very much for Saskia too, it's a really amazing name - very pretty in the way Sophie is pretty, but with a real exotic edge. And everyone can spell it, there's only one way to spell it (!), and everyone is familiar with it.

Plus, it will be shortened to Sass which is so much better than Ange (Angelina) or Ade (Adrianna)!

I like Claudia too but it's not half as nice as Saskia.

SirVixofVixHall · 25/09/2019 10:15

The Angelina I know has Annie as her pet name.
Honor is lovely, have your friends not heard of Honor Blackman ?
Max and Petra
Max and Julia
Max and Juliet
Max and Louise
Max and Verity
Max and Ursula
Max and Saskia
Max and Stephanie
Max and Lilian
Max and Persephone
Max and Katerina /Catrina
Max and Esther
Max and Tatiana

How awful for you OP, that your name was used to be spiteful towards you. Pretty vile thing to do to a child .

FizzyGreenWater · 25/09/2019 11:58

Oh yes Annie is a possible there. Which reminds me, how about:

Max and Anna?

If you wanted to go in the opposite direction of the original 'name' (which sounds fairly long and elaborate) then you couldn't do better than Anna - so simple, absolutely beautiful, just about the most classic elegant name there is.

FizzyGreenWater · 25/09/2019 11:59
  • was also going to say the only negative about Max and Saskia is that you have the two 'as' type sounds in there, which is ever so slightly hard to say.
SirVixofVixHall · 25/09/2019 12:06

I also love Anna, beautiful name.

RachelEllenR · 25/09/2019 12:14

I don't really like the latest list. Anya came to mind immediately, But also think Max and Eva is great.

I like Pippa (Philippa) too.

Crunchymum · 25/09/2019 15:36

Missing the point somewhat but OP how do you know "This horrid woman" was just out to get pregnant? and how did she find out about 'your' name given she was a ONS? Confused

I know it's a bit hypocritical to say this (given that I'm a stranger giving my opinion) but I advise you not to discuss your name shortlist with family and friends. I know everyone is interested and you probably want some validation of the name you end up choosing. But the problem with discussing it in real life is that you can be too influenced by the opinions of loved ones (hopefully it wouldn't bother you so much if one or two Mumsnetters weren't keen). And you do also run the risk of someone else "stealing" the name although you know that now!

The only opinions that matter are yours and your partner's. Everything else is a bonus. Apart from if the name is truly hideous in which case mumsnetters will tell you Wink

crispycactus · 25/09/2019 21:58

Max and Heloise
Max and Clemence

But I really love Honor!

I kinda get where your coming from, not quite to that extent but I've had my girls name picked out for over 15 years and couldn't imagine using any other name and have had 2 people use it when hearing it from me (I've since learnt not to tell People ha) neither are that close that I couldn't use it anymore but it would be really annoying as they are close enough that it would seem I've copied them even through both have said they didn't think of the name before I mentioned it, the one had already chosen a different name and was going to register the baby the following day and changed it last minute Angry ironically since finding out I'm pregnant I have gone off the name a little only because it doesn't go with out boy choice.
DH's ex who he's quite friendly with still has named her son the same as we've picked as well which is quite annoying. I can't blame her too much as I don't think she knew we were set on that one but it's quite rare to hear where we are from so it's annoying, however we will still use it.

I like
Emmaline
Genevieve
Gwendoline

Stop telling people the names you want to use!!

  1. I didn't. Someone else told that woman.
  2. These are now all names that are of secondary value, none are of relevance, I'm just getting opinions on whatever else she ends up being called. I literally couldn't give a flying fuck if someone I know "took" any of them.

But thanks Hmm

Max & Saskia are great names. I know siblings called Saskia & Max and they are both very cool, both in their 20's now.
