DramaAlpaca · 18/09/2019 21:48

Yes, it's very silly.

Sorry, but it is.

user1573354 · 18/09/2019 21:49

I love it.

Morado · 18/09/2019 22:10

I had a female friend growing up names Sunny so I've always loved it!

SlimGin · 18/09/2019 22:16

I like it!

passionfruit11 · 18/09/2019 22:41

Sunny is a lovely name. Sunnie just looks like it's been misspelled Confused

notso · 18/09/2019 22:44

I really don't like that spelling, it just looks wrong.

Tillygetsit · 18/09/2019 22:47

Sorry op it's a bit daft.

Whoops75 · 18/09/2019 22:48

Love Sonny for a boy
Not loving it for a girl

.....and Cher?

user1493494961 · 18/09/2019 22:50

Very silly, she might not be.

ECMOR · 18/09/2019 22:50

I know a Sunnie through work, but only ever spoken over email.
Always assumed they were a woman for over 4 years, found out last week that it's a guy - surprised me!

But either way, I think it's a nice name!

PinkBuffalo · 18/09/2019 22:52

My friends little girl has that name and spelling. I think it's lovely and it really suits the girl now she's not so little anymore.
I don't think it's weird because I know someone with that name, so if you like it OP, go for it.

myloveforfrazzles · 18/09/2019 22:55

I love it

Welshy545 · 18/09/2019 23:21

I know two people with daughters named Sunny, with that spelling. I think its lovely, not sure about the Sunnie spelling though.

rempy · 18/09/2019 23:23

So I’ve never posted on a baby name post before... just stop for a second and wonder why girls get these virtue names. Because this is a virtue name... and think how “Sunnie” is going to feel when yet another person makes some shite joke about her “not being so Sunnie today pet” or some other such tedious small talk, when frankly she isn’t feeling up for the laugh.

You’ve boxed her into a personality trait before she can ever be the person she is going to be...

All the lumbering clumsy Graces... all the despairing Hopes, furious Patience... poor women!

Babies will spend most about 7/8ths of their lives as an adult. Some something “cute” really is not doing your child a favour in the long run.

If she is Sunny in personality it can be a nickname.

percheron67 · 18/09/2019 23:38

Sounds like a fruit drink.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 18/09/2019 23:40

No it’s nice. I mean even if I was blessed with 10 girls it wouldn’t even feature in my top 100, but It’s fresh and different.
However a few things I’d spell it Sunny and I wouldn’t use it if she’s due in Winter. That’s just me though

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 18/09/2019 23:41

I know it’s not the same name, but Storm Huntley seems to be doing okay.

FairyDust92 · 18/09/2019 23:42

Always loved the boy way of Sonny. But I think Sunny is a lovely girls name. Not sure on Sunnie though x

AverageMummy · 19/09/2019 03:20

Reminds me of sunny delight

A terrible name made worse with odd spelling- yes it’s a silly idea.

If you really love it then maybe call her Susanna or Stephanie or something & use Sunnie as a nickname - so she can choose whether she continues using it as she gets older

Derbee · 19/09/2019 03:35

Yes, silly

Gatepost1820 · 19/09/2019 06:22

Silly and childish and a bit sexist tbh. Girls are always lumbered with cutesy, frilly names whilst boys are given stronger names. Therefore reinforcing age old stereotypes.

BethanyGilbert · 19/09/2019 06:25

Like a serious of unfortunate events? I think it’s cute.

DramaFarmer · 19/09/2019 06:32

The spelling looks like mid-spelled Sunni Muslims.

Is your surname Day?
She will get stupid jokes like that her whole life.
