I’d go with the suggestion of Katherine, and call her Katniss as a pet name. Or Katrina, Katharina.

TO be fair to the OP, there’s A long history of writers making up names that then become popular and accepted names, eg Pamela, Wendy, Miranda. But I’m not convinced the Hunger Games is literature for the ages, and this name is likely to date really badly.

@Ellmau Miranda dates back to the 1600s.... I think surely any name is ‘made up’ if you go back far enough ?!?!
