Thoughts on this name for a baby girl?
I like McKayla Rose

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Floralnomad · 20/08/2019 14:11

To me it just looks like you can’t spell . Sorry .

Finfintytint · 20/08/2019 14:12

Nice name but I would spell it Michaela.

Greenteandchives · 20/08/2019 14:13

Change the spelling. Mc means ‘son of’.

tigerbear · 20/08/2019 14:13

Agree, it looks like a made up name, and you’ll get people writing Michaela, which is how it’s usually written.

Aragog · 20/08/2019 14:13

As in Michaela? Or said differently?

Never seen that spelling before - it does look a little 'made up' for my liking even if it's not, though it's not a name of my choosing anyway.

poolblack · 20/08/2019 14:13

Surely not?

MrsBertBibby · 20/08/2019 14:13

Dreadful.

cheeseislife8 · 20/08/2019 14:14

Its pretty but she may hate having to constantly spell out her name in future years

JollyGiraffe · 20/08/2019 14:14

I prefer Michaela.

As an alternative, I've come across a Maleya recently which is quite pretty

stayathomer · 20/08/2019 14:15

We had a 'Mikaela' in school? I've never seen a first name with an mc in it, any chance the spelling is wrong? If you love it, you love it! Congrats OP!

Princessfaffalot · 20/08/2019 14:15

You seriously cannot call your baby “Mckayla”. It’s made up and sounds like limited edition sandwich from McDonald’s.

IsobelRae23 · 20/08/2019 14:44

It’s an okay name, but change the spelling so she didn’t ‘son of’

SirJamesTalbotAndHisSpeculum · 20/08/2019 14:45

Lord.

Just no.

fleshmarketclose · 20/08/2019 14:49

Awful, looks like you can't spell or made it up. What's wrong with Michaela? It's pretty dated though tbh.

womaninthedark · 20/08/2019 14:49

My first thought was 'Hahahaha!'

Michaela Rose is fine.

elephantfan · 20/08/2019 14:50

Lovely name if you spell it correctly.
If you spell it the way you are suggesting, your child will have a lifetime of embarrassment.
It is fine to use conventional spelling.

joystir59 · 20/08/2019 14:50

Effing ridiculous! Have some respect for your new daughter FFS!

EssentialHummus · 20/08/2019 14:51

Use Michaela please.

Pemba · 20/08/2019 14:54

The name is fine, but please spell it the normal way - Michaela.

dreichhighlands · 20/08/2019 14:57

I find the current enthusiasm for naming girl dcs 'son of' rather strange.
With the standard spelling this is a perfectly fine name.

PaddyF0dder · 20/08/2019 14:57

Please don’t do that to your child.

SirJamesTalbotAndHisSpeculum · 20/08/2019 15:00

At least there isn't a hyphen.

Or did you just forget to put it in?

IHaveBrilloHair · 20/08/2019 15:01

No, just no.

user1480880826 · 20/08/2019 15:03

That’s not how you spell Michaela.

IHaveBrilloHair · 20/08/2019 15:04

I know a McKenna and her family unfortunately.
I say unfortunately as that's exactly the type of family a McKayla will be assumed to be from.
Don't do it.
