I think it's really sweet. Surname is Heard, so whatever I name her she will be Miss Heard 😂

Others I thought of are:
Abigail
Audrey
Esme
Heidi

Views would be welcome.

I really like it!

Equatoria · 09/08/2019 10:01

Lovely name.

daisypond · 09/08/2019 10:08

I like it.

Paddyodoors · 09/08/2019 10:15

Pretty name and different from the current usual ones you hear all the time. People of a certain age will think Alma Sedgwick from Coronation Street though.

Howtotrainyourhamster · 09/08/2019 10:20

I like it. I do think of Alma Pudden from Mallory towers (maybe just me) but also the Alma in the book ‘The History of Love’ which is a more romantic connection!

Your other names are all OK but Alma is more unusual and I don’t think Heidi Heard sounds good at all.

Howtotrainyourhamster · 09/08/2019 10:20

St Clare’s not Mallory Towers!

evilharpy · 09/08/2019 10:25

It's pretty. It means "soul" in Spanish which I like.

ChihuahuaMummy1 · 09/08/2019 10:34

Prefer Elma

Icklepup · 09/08/2019 11:05

I like it!!

PuppyMonkey · 09/08/2019 11:07

It’s a no from me sorry. Too soon.Grin

Missbdhfc · 09/08/2019 11:07

Thank you. I guess her generation won't really remember Alma from Corrie. The dreaded 'that reminds me of...' could apply to any names really. I'm a teacher as well so it's very hard coming up with something.

I love it. Doesn't it mean soul in Spanish?

Frith2013 · 09/08/2019 11:21

The Alma is my local pub so that would put me off!

Heidi Heard doesn’t work. It’s like hi-di-hi! Or yodelling.

Militantmartha · 09/08/2019 14:21

Alma is lovely and also like Esme

notso · 09/08/2019 14:23

I just think of Alma Pudden.

I prefer Albatross

NoSauce · 09/08/2019 14:24

Alma of Corrie.

Alba is nicer.

notso · 09/08/2019 14:24

FGS! Not Albatross!!
Alba.

NoSauce · 09/08/2019 14:24

I prefer Albatross

Grin
diddlediddle · 09/08/2019 14:28

All nice except I can't see Heidi Heard as a good combo.

Audrey or Alma are nicest

Missbdhfc · 09/08/2019 15:25

Albatross 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

Hmm, Alma Heard sounds like a lesser version of Amber Heard - or Amber Heard’s grandmother. I’m very open minded when it comes to names but I don’t think Alma needs to make a come back. Esme and Heidi are great !

Snipples · 09/08/2019 15:56

It's a nice name but it makes me think of Sister Act - "Alma, check ya battery!" stamp Stamp!

diddlediddle · 09/08/2019 20:27

Alma is a lovely name and IMO is no different to all the other similar popular names atm like Alba, Ayla, Aida, Ada, Aria, Aila, Anya, Aura, etc etc

DramaAlpaca · 09/08/2019 20:29

I really don't like Alma. It's granny-not-so-chic to me. Sorry.

joystir59 · 09/08/2019 20:33

I don't like it, it sounds old fashioned and harsh
