Thoughts on the name Jett?

Hiya,

What's your thoughts on the name Jett for a boy? Would you automatically think Jet Li?

Agree with pp @Cbeebiesrehab, you clearly really like the name, and are happy to use it despite what everyone else thinks so I think that's all that matters.

Also - people will always make judgements on names based on washed up reality stars, film stars, people they know, people they hated in school... I didnt realise how many people I disliked until I tried to pick a baby name 😂 (and no I can confirm dds name is not that of a washed up reality star or their offspring!)

Agree only ever known black labradors called Jet.

The only Jett I can think of is Jett Reno in Star Trek Discovery, who is awesome and female.

When you call his name in the park, you'll probably get half a dozen black Labradors come running.

Doesn't Katie bloody Price have a son called Jett? It's one of the more sensible of her children's names, but that's not saying much.

Jett isn't too bad, quirky I guess.

My first thought was also Katie Price (her girls are called Bunny & Princess) so definitely more of an alternative type name than the norm.

I know a Jett, he's from a family of kids who all have stupid names though.
The parents are pretentious twats who think they are very "wacky", they have a reputation in our village but I quite like them, in spite of it.

My first thought would be Gladiators, she was pretty cool but whenever I saw him I'd get the urge to say 'contenders ready....' in a Scottish accent.

If you don't like the associations, what about Rhett (lead male character in Gone With the Wind) or another short male name starting with J eg Jeff, Jon, or Jem

The only one i’ve known is an older lady who was Jet as a nickname for Jeanette.

I didn't know Katie Price had a dc called that but honestly it does sound like the kind of name that she would choose.
If you like the name however OP that is all that matters really.
