Suddenly fallen in love with this name after going through hundreds of pages and not warming to any. I don't like it short for anything before people start suggesting using another name on the birth certificate. Was just wondering peoples thoughts on it? Smile

I absolutely love it - would definitely be on my list if I had a girl

DramaAlpaca · 24/06/2019 22:57

Too granny chic & twee for me, sorry.

But if you love it that's all that matters.

JasperTheFriendlyGhost · 24/06/2019 22:58

Love it. Also love Elsa but i don’t think i’d use it for obvious reasons.

Bananallama858 · 24/06/2019 22:58

Gorgeous - I’m tempted to steal it and add it to my list. Thank you for the inspiration!

OhMsBeliever · 24/06/2019 22:59

Love it. Was going to be my youngest's name but didn't think it would suit him. Grin

AverageMummy · 24/06/2019 23:17

Beautiful

barbaramillicentr · 24/06/2019 23:17

Elsa would be my choice with Elsie as a nickname. I know Elsie is a name in its own right but it feels more like a nickname to me.

wheelywheelynice · 24/06/2019 23:29

So many lovely names in the world and Elsie is the only one that appeals? Seriously?!

Rumboogie · 24/06/2019 23:30

Funny-I was just thinking of this name today and how much I liked it!
It was my aunt's name and I was thinking it was overdue for a revival.

anitagreen · 24/06/2019 23:39

It's rife here it's like the new darcie or lily craze I know about 4 kids with it just in my street Shock

HPLikecraft · 25/06/2019 00:00

I like it.

Shadow1234 · 25/06/2019 00:09

Absolutely love it.

bert3400 · 25/06/2019 00:10

My puppy is called Elsie, she is very cute 😍

yayitsagirl · 25/06/2019 07:58

I'm glad people like it, it's only name I've suggested that me OH and all of the family like! It's not popular in my area at all either. Thank you all, makes me like it more 💓

Lovely.

Fullmoons · 25/06/2019 09:33

Is it short for Elisabeth?

Elsie sounds a little too cutesy and nicknamey to me.

ChihuahuaMummy1 · 25/06/2019 09:51

Lovely name

gerbilfun · 25/06/2019 09:57

I love it. Dunno how how it comes across cutesy when it's an old lady name 🤦🏻‍♀️

SallyWD · 25/06/2019 10:14

I like it. I prefer Elsa but Elsie is nice

SushiTime · 25/06/2019 10:18

Sorry, I don't like it. Seems to be a bit of a craze at the moment.

I have a friend in a town about 30miles from me and all the babies are being named with an 'ee' ending and with their accent it's truly awful.

pumpkinpie01 · 25/06/2019 10:24

How about changing the letters around and having Elise? Bit more unusual (well it is where I live ) and not so cutesy.

REllenR · 25/06/2019 10:26

I don't like it- we have an Elsie in the family and I wouldn't even use it as a middle name. Elise is much nicer like a pp suggested in my opinion.

Orchidflower1 · 25/06/2019 10:28

Elsie is lovely- however remember as long as you and oh like the name that’s all that matters. You said about the rest of the family- it doesn’t matter what they think. New grandchildren / nephews etc will be loved just a much whether called Ben or bogglybum it’s your baby.

Orchidflower1 · 25/06/2019 10:28

Obvs bogglybum is on my list!

DirtyNell · 25/06/2019 10:31

Here in Scotland, Elsie is usually short for Elspeth. The Elsie I know, hates it, because she’s from the Elsie Tanner ( Corrie) generation. I presume that association has died out, given its rising popularity.
I think it’s too close to Elsa, and all that ‘Let it Go’ malarkey.
