Definitely Jude.
Jesse is a bit surfer dude to me.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 18/06/2019 12:26

Jude

Yukka · 18/06/2019 12:32

I like them both but I’m in the Jesse camp. This is our boys name if it’s a boy. But we do live by the beach ...:) I don’t think it’s just a surfer name it makes me think of creative, active, emotionally in touch boy types.

Tahitiitsamagicalplace · 18/06/2019 12:34

We had the same shortlist Smile
We went for Jesse, and I still love it. It suits him so well (and he's definitely not a surfer dude)

Cbeebiesrehab · 18/06/2019 12:53

I really like both but we went for Jude as it feels more classic but still cool. I think Jesse could be difficult to pull off for some.

AverageMummy · 18/06/2019 12:54

Jesse reminds me of an insult “you big Jesse”
Jude by a mile for me

Astronica · 18/06/2019 13:15

Jude.

PineappleSeahorse · 18/06/2019 13:34

Jesse, so long as you aren't in Scotland.

I hate Jude.

MikeUniformMike · 18/06/2019 13:56

Dislike both.

rosyedith · 18/06/2019 14:20

@MikeUniformMike don't comment then! 😂

You big Jessie was my first thought.

rosyedith · 18/06/2019 14:23

I really love Jude but edging towards Jesse as I don't know anyone in the area with the name.

Lulubelle15 · 18/06/2019 14:24

I've got a Jesse so obviously I love that one more. Although I do really like Jude but my husband wasn't keen.

MikeUniformMike · 18/06/2019 14:25

@Rosyedith, if you saw a thread asking Cedric or Cecil? or Hector or Horace? would you not comment?
Jesse - big Jessy
Jude - Judey, Judas

rosyedith · 18/06/2019 14:33

@MikeUniformMike no I wouldn't I have better things to do

OP posts:
MikeUniformMike · 18/06/2019 14:34

@Rosyedith, obviously.

Fullmoons · 18/06/2019 15:14

I prefer Jesse.

Jude is a Jew in German. It doesn't travel well.

Racheyg · 18/06/2019 15:17

I have a Jude. It's a lively name although very popular now xx

Snoopy90 · 18/06/2019 15:19

Jesse x

GrumpyOHara · 18/06/2019 15:59

Why would it be bad to have a name that means 'a Jew?' Christian is a name in the UK - surely it's not much different?

RuthW · 18/06/2019 16:00

Dislike both but Jesse is too feminine for my liking.

Cbeebiesrehab · 18/06/2019 16:29

This always really annoys me too Grumpy

Peachbubble · 18/06/2019 16:49

Jude

autumndreaming · 18/06/2019 17:15

Jesse! Don't like the sound of Jude for some reason. I think it reminds me of the word 'rude'.

Fullmoons · 18/06/2019 17:16

Why would it be bad to have a name that means 'a Jew?' Christian is a name in the UK - surely it's not much different?

Because Christian is both a name AND a person who belongs to Christianity. Christian is a popular name in many countries.

Jude is only a name in English speaking countries. And Jude is only a Jew in German speaking countries (and not a name)

But this may of course not bother you, I just thought it would be helpful to know.
