I really like it but I worry it’s a bit odd. What do you think of the name?

I quite like it. There’s always Augusta and Augustus too.

CatherineOfAragonsPrayerBook · 08/06/2019 14:16

prefer Augustus

JustTheCrowsAndTheBeef · 08/06/2019 14:42

I really like it. I know one; he goes by Gus.

OhhMyLittleGirls · 08/06/2019 14:51

Love it! I have known two, one went by Auggie and the other went by Gus.

userabcname · 08/06/2019 14:53

Love it!

SumAndSubstance · 08/06/2019 15:09

I feel it works better in German. In English I don’t mind it, but prefer Augustus.

sincethereis · 08/06/2019 15:10

Love it

Prefer to Augustus which imo sound pretentious af

Susannach · 08/06/2019 15:16

Love it

AgentCooper · 08/06/2019 15:19

Oh I love it. Much nicer than Augustus —Gloop—

Augie is a great nn too.

Penny4Thoughts · 08/06/2019 15:22

Don’t like it sorry

SundayMorningSun · 08/06/2019 15:24

Nice. Unpretentiously Classical. And Gus is a good nn if needed.

Heratnumber7 · 08/06/2019 15:29

Only if s/he is born in August. Bit odd for a December baby.

sunnyshines · 08/06/2019 16:03

Love August!

Starlive23 · 08/06/2019 16:03

Oh I like it, it's a bit unusual but it's a really nice name.

Ponieswithponytails · 08/06/2019 16:06

Like but prefer Autumn

Redhanger · 08/06/2019 16:30

Have you been watching Wonder by any chance? Grin

Peachbubble · 08/06/2019 16:35

I like it

Carpetburns · 08/06/2019 16:38

Please only do it if she's born in August.

sincethereis · 08/06/2019 16:39

No, I think that’s corny.

Named August and born in August

CatSmize · 08/06/2019 16:42

I love unusual names but I'm not a fan. It sounds like Augustus which, to my ears, sounds old-fashioned and 'nerdy'. Blush

TinselTimes · 08/06/2019 17:03

I know an August, Augustus and Augustine - they’re all good names, and none of them were born in August. My favourite is actually Augustine - who’s currently known as Teeny.

daisypond · 08/06/2019 17:05

I like it.

bridgetreilly · 08/06/2019 17:12

Just to be clear, it's a boy's name, not a girl's name.

It's okay, though I think it's quite a lot to live up to. What if he's a cheeky, mischievous boy?

bridgetreilly · 08/06/2019 17:13

Oh, also, as a name I'm pretty sure it's AuGUST, not AUGust like the month. But it'll constantly be mispronounced, so that's another thing to consider.

daisypond · 08/06/2019 17:14

Meant to add, doesn’t have to be born in August. It’s the adjective august I think of.
