We’re somehow only two months away from meeting our little girl and I’d ideally like to shorten our list before she arrives.

Opinions on these names to help us do that please? Florence, Mabel, Beatrice, Beatrix and Lucia. Big sister is Violet. Thanks!

Beatrice, Beatrix, Florence = love, beautiful names
Lucia = like
Mabel = not personally a fan

Florence - lovely name, would go well with Violet
Mabel - a bit on the frumpy side
Beatrice - very nice
Beatrix - OK but prefer Beatrice
Lucia - love if pronounced Lu-CHEE-a

DramaAlpaca · 03/06/2019 18:28

Mabel & Florence have a similar vintage vibe to Violet.

I prefer Beatrice to Beatrix. I'm not mad on Lucia, however it's pronounced. Lucy is nice though, and works well with Violet.

AngelaJ18 · 03/06/2019 18:36

Really not a fan of Mabel. Florence or Lucia. Beatrice & Beatrix remind me of a Harry Potter villain

qj17 · 03/06/2019 18:40

Lucia or Florence

JaneGlorianaVillanueva · 03/06/2019 18:41

Florence is the only one i really like, Lucia is ok but dont like the rest sorry!

LegoPiecesEverywhere · 03/06/2019 18:42

Florence or Lucia

MyDcAreMarvel · 03/06/2019 18:45

Love Mabel , the rest are a bit meh.

userabcname · 03/06/2019 18:46

Lucia is my favourite. Then Florence.

DontCallMeShitley · 03/06/2019 18:53

I knew a Lucia, people had problems and called her all manner of things including Lucifer.

Heard a girl being called Mabel the other week, probably about 13/14, it sounded so old fashioned and was expecting to see a maiden aunt.

Florence is lovely, was going to call my little cat Florence as she was so pretty.

Beatrice, I like it, especially pronounced with a French accent. I do not like Beatrix.

In short, I like Florence and Beatrice but not the others. Flo, Floss, Bea, Beat (my aunt was called Beat, pronounced beet).

helpmum2003 · 03/06/2019 18:53

All lovely names. I think Lucia will have pronunciation issues. I prefer Beatrice to Beatrix.
Of the other 3 would go for Mabel (NN Belle) but love them all and lovely with Violet...

BlueJag · 03/06/2019 18:57

Definitely old lady choices. Non for me specially Mabel.

BlueJag · 03/06/2019 18:58

Lucia is a nice name.

Pastaalldaylong · 03/06/2019 18:58

I like florence best.

miamiibiza · 03/06/2019 19:09

Mabel or Florence

Jessi88 · 03/06/2019 19:12

Lucia’s potential pronunciation issues are a slight concern of mine.

That’s fine, JaneGlorianaVillanueva and BlueJag. I asked for opinions and we all have different tastes.

Lucia and Beatrice are lovely
Beatrix is cool

zen1 · 03/06/2019 19:17

I like Florence and think it goes well with Violet.

Marinkazurie · 03/06/2019 19:19

Violet & Beatrix OR Violet & Lucia

clpsmum · 03/06/2019 19:20

Beatrice or Beatrix

SpeckledyHen · 03/06/2019 19:20

Beatrice is my fave . Personally wouldn’t like Florence as she would inevitably be called Flo :(

Marinkazurie · 03/06/2019 19:20

Are you pronouncing Lucia as in the Italian way, loo-chee-a, or like St Lucia?

Peachbubble · 03/06/2019 19:20

Mabel or Beatrix

Jessi88 · 03/06/2019 19:26

The Italian way, @Marinkazurie

@Jessi88

I would vote for Violet & Lucia then. Violet is ''viola'' in Italian, so I just think they go well together :)
