What do you think of Clover for a girl? Do you think it works on an adult?

Dont give bullies ammunition. Its a silly name imho.

Goodnightjude1 · 04/06/2019 15:45

I had a friend at school who’s last name was Clover....everyone used to sing “roll me overrrrrr in the Cloverrrrr” every time she walked by. She also got called Flora, Spreads when cold and Marg!
Other than that, it’s a pretty name!

Sparklingfairylights · 04/06/2019 15:48

It's dreadful, the idea of being an adult woman called Clover just makes me wince.

ErrantTesselation · 04/06/2019 15:49

Cow or margarine.

blushmelikeyou · 04/06/2019 15:50

Is the baby a character in Bambi?

Bonniefoible · 04/06/2019 15:54

Cute for a five year bit more of a struggle for an adult professional. Lovely pet name maybe. Just my opinion. 🙂

simplekindoflife · 04/06/2019 16:09

Butter.

DontCallMeShitley · 04/06/2019 16:14

Cow, spread, good if you live on a dairy farm.. I keep seeing a black & white cow when I think of the name.

Bwekfusth · 04/06/2019 16:56

I don't like it, I can't imagine an adult called clover and I know it's a marge brand but it just puts me in kind of cloves of garlic

Thertruthisoutwhere · 04/06/2019 23:26

I love this name and have it on my list for DC2 (DH hates it though!)

JustHereforHarriet · 04/06/2019 23:29

Flora
Clover

Spreads.

BattenburgIsland · 04/06/2019 23:29

I think it's beautiful! Reminds me of what Katy did.
I know it's a brand of margarine but I think it's also coming back into fashion with other Victorian girls names... so I dont think people are just going to think of the butter.
Theres a girl in my sons nursery called Flora (another Victorian name that's also a brand of margarine) and it really suits her. I dont think of the margarine brand when I see her.... I think of a romantic Victorian name.

AlliKaneErikson · 05/06/2019 00:21

It reminds me of the rabbit in Sofia the First. I don’t love it but it’s not awful at all.

AmyMaria2 · 05/06/2019 00:22

Reminds me of a cow😬

lavenderblues · 05/06/2019 07:09

Not very feminine sounding

MsTSwift · 05/06/2019 21:26

I liked it but everyone else in my life including dh hated it. What Katy did association is good

soapona · 05/06/2019 21:48

I was at school with a Flora who was promiscuous they used to say "flora spreads easily". I'm sorry I just can't get that thought out my mind with names like flora and clover

Dogparty · 05/06/2019 23:34

It’s a cows name to me & I would hate to be a grown woman called Clover. I’d find it quite embarrassing.

KinderSurpriseBump · 06/06/2019 20:54

Reminds me of farm animals sorry

concernedforthefuture · 06/06/2019 20:56

It's a horse name 🐴 . Sorry.

Susannach · 06/06/2019 22:09

Weird coincidence: I actually met a 3yo Clover today! I really like it, and it suited her. Her sister was Fern, which I think has been suggested too.
