Rate these names?

What do you all think of these names? These aren't my names but my sisters top 3. She asked me to post as she doesn't have an account on here but wanted others opinions as I'm 'too biased'.

For a girl:
Alaska
Effie
Phoenix (nix/nixie)

For a boy:
Artemis
Jasper
Leo

Baked Alaska, sorry. Don’t like any of the girls names. Jasper was the name of my dog, Leo the lion. I quite like Artemis though, but it does make me think of the books

I like Jasper and Leo. Hate all the girls names and Artemis is a girls name to me too.

I love Phoenix for a boy too :)

I like Effie and Leo, not a fan of the rest

Phoenix is for boys, Artemis is more for girls I think.
No to Alaska.
Jasper and Leo are OK.
No to Effie - I think Effie wasn't a great book character but I can't remember which book now. A children's book. Also Effie - Effing!

I quite like Effie but it reminds me of Skins.

Alaska doesn't sound like a name for a person to me

I like Jasper, Leo quite popular and not a fan of Artemis.

Artemis is a female name, after the goddess. I quite like that, Artie for short.

My grandma was called Effie so I love it but in this day and age, I wonder if she would be called Effing at school. 🙄🙄🙄

Not keen on the other names.

I like Effie and Jasper. I feel Effie should be short for something so it's not too cutesy as an adult. Stephanie?

Artemis is a girls name & Phoenix a boys name though?

Maybe she’s thinking of Atticus for a boy? Other than that the girls names are awful (but quite like Artemis for a girl) & the boys names are great - I know a few Leo’s, a couple of Jaspers & a Phoenix (all boys!) & they are all lovely!

Don't use Jasper if there is a history of red hair in the family.

(btw to echo a pp - Artemis is a well known goddess, you really can’t call a boy that! It would be like calling a girl Thor or Zeus!)

Alaska - baked alaska, may get shortened to “lassie”!
Phoenix - chavvy, sorry
Effie - not bad but yes she will probably be nicknamed “eff off”!

Leo - ok
Jasper - not bad but a bit of a dogs name
Artemis - a girls name and will have piss taken im afraid

Artemis was a goddess not a god so I would use that as a girls name. I think it is nicer than the listed girls names.
Jasper and Leo are both decent boys names.

Elizabeth is a good classic name.

Leo and Jasper are ok, hate Alaska and Phoenix. Effie is ok as a nickname for Stephanie.

Leo is OK. I don't like the rest. Alaska is particularly bad.

Artemis Fowl is a boy

Effie way at the top, Phoenix then Alaska. Don't like either of those though. Phoenix is a bit try hard and makes me involuntarily roll my eyes. Alaska isn't a pretty enough sounding place name to be a first name.
Leo, Jasper, Artemis for boys. Artemis a bit wanky but passable, Artie is cute. Leo and Jasper both lovely.

Leo and Jasper are nice. Artemis is the goddess Diana, the hunter. Effie sounds like effing. Should def be short for something. I think she was in 'Silas Marner'? Phoenix - not my taste but ok. Alaska is a definite no from me. How about Adelaide? Also a place, but nicer.
