Posey or Billie?

Currently going through ivf and now in the 2ww. But we have been brain storming names for the future as a way to help us through the tough times and something positive.

These are the names we love for little girls, please give your honest opinions on them.

Posey (poh-zee) Juliette
Billie Adeline (add-a-line)

We also love: Etta, Vivienne, Violet, Jolie, River & Ettie

This is where we got the name from, I’ve never heard it before but when we watched about time and instantly both said we loved Posey! I love the film about time!

Love both! Billie slightly more I think.

Adeline, Violet, Vivienne and Juliette are all nice. Etta is just about OK but not really the nicest sound.

Posey is very little-girly and limiting. Billie and Ettie are awful and don't sound like proper names at all.

Do not like Posey at all. Sounds like a name for a little furry pet.

I really like Vivienne.

not sure if posey reminds me of posy - as in bunch of flowers or someone who likes posing a lot?
I'd vote for Billie

I love Posy/Posey and in fact we're thinking Juliet Posy for another DD! My DH vetoed it as a first name.

Posey is a lovely name for a baby and little girl: not so much for a women about to go into an interview/ business meeting/ make a speech

Etta, Ettie and Violet are great. Billie and Posey are a bit chavtastic.

Nosey Posey or silly billie would both put me off, although I would choose Posy just because of the Ballet Shoes connection.

Vivienne is the nicest.

Billie is terrible.

I don't personally like Posey as a name, but I did always love the character in Ballet Shoes.

Billie is mine and OH choice too. We love it. Although I do really like Ettie!

The Character in Ballet Shoes is Posy not Posey. Posy, as in a small bunch of flowers, is a great name. Posey, as in someone who poses, is definitely not. Billie is horrid.

“Her name is Posy. Unfortunate but true.” That’s not to say I don’t like the name! And Posy Simmonds manages to carry it off as an grown woman - I know it’s not her real name but it is what she is known as.

I like the pop culture references in most of the names you've chosen!

You'll get lots of Billie Holiday/ Etta James fans giving you a knowing smile with those. Trouble is they'll be lost on anyone who's not in the know. My dcs all have names you could link with popular culture and i love those moments when someone says "as in...?" It's not for everyone but you can't please all the people all the time etc. If you love it, go for it! Names are not a democracy!

Sorry but Posey is awful. Can't imagine an adult called it and she will probably hate it when she is older.

Posey is lovely. Vivienne is also one of my all-time favourites. I actually quite like all of your names to be honest! Fingers crossed you get your bfp soon.
