There is nothing wrong with it, I prefer the Ryley spelling I think Riley is a more feminine spelling and it can be used as a girls name as well.

Strawberry2017 · 11/05/2019 21:43

@ZsaZsaMc after Angel nobody was going to compare Grin
I like it, I also quite liked Riley in Buffy. 🤣

justforthis7 · 11/05/2019 21:45

It's lovely

incogneto · 11/05/2019 21:45

I love it and it's not so common

IcelandicYoghurt · 11/05/2019 21:46

I also liked Riley in Buffy!

Really not keen on the name though, sorry.

BlueMerchant · 11/05/2019 21:47

Common where I live and 'naughty' sorry😬

Bunnybigears · 11/05/2019 21:49

Very common as in popular where I live as well, if that bothers you.

NoSauce · 11/05/2019 21:50

Dreadful

ReginaPhalange89 · 11/05/2019 21:51

I don't know a single Riley ! Just checked the names from Scotland last year and it was up at number 74 so not overly popular. Only 90 baby Riley's born in Scotland last year .

DontCallMeShitley · 11/05/2019 22:01

Ex neighbour's dog was Riley. Seems quite popular with dogs. (Sorry).

Howtotrainyourhamster · 11/05/2019 22:04

Don’t like it, sorry. Also, very popular for girls in the US so probably will become more feminine by default in same way as Aubrey and Sydney.

ReginaPhalange89 · 11/05/2019 22:04

😂 never met an animal called Riley either . Hmm not great feedback

Bunnybigears · 11/05/2019 22:05

ReginaPhalange89 did you check the Ryley spelling? Al the Ryley's I know are spelt that way.

RockinHippy · 11/05/2019 22:12

It's a girls name here in Southern England. We know 4 8-17yo though no babies🤷‍♀️

ReginaPhalange89 · 11/05/2019 22:14

@bunnybigears I've just scrolled through from 1- 350 and didn't see the Ryley spelling

Same here.

Bunnybigears · 11/05/2019 22:17

Wow I'm surprised, I personally know 5 and know off a few more and we re close to the Scottish borders.

ReginaPhalange89 · 11/05/2019 22:25

Weird ! Spotted Reilly away up in the 400+ , 7 of those born last year and 4 Rylee, but not Ryley that I can see ! Maybe just missing it though

jittabug · 11/05/2019 22:26

I like it! Not heard of anyone called Riley down here and I would have assumed a boys name. Maybe slightly American?

purplepingu · 11/05/2019 22:26

I've got a girl Riley but if she'd have been a boy she'd have still been Riley because we liked it for both.

CherryPavlova · 11/05/2019 22:28

A good name for a Jack Russell.

TildaTurnip · 11/05/2019 22:29

I know of two boy Riley’s. Never seen the Ryley spelling before but I much prefer a Riley. I think it’s a fine name.

ReginaPhalange89 · 11/05/2019 22:29

@jittabug yeah I'm not sure if it sounds too American for me. I can't make my mind up on it, initially when he said it I thought I quite like that, but not sure .

Feels quite surname-y to me too, I know a few people with Reilly as a surname but no first names
