Middle names for Kaelyn?

So basically I want a name for a girl that isn't common, however I don't mind if the middle name is slightly more common (but not super common). I have fallen in love with the name Kaelyn (Kay-Lin - almost like Caitlin without the t) but I'm stuck for a middle name!

I've come up with:

  • Kaelyn Paige
  • Kaelyn Jade

But I haven't fallen in love with these like I have for the first name, so does anyone have any other suggestions? My surname is Robinson so obviously I need something that flows nicely with that - I'm not too fussy about the length as long as it doesn't take 10 minutes to pronounce Wink .

I think one of the problems is th that 'ae' is not a phoneme in English and so it looks 'wrong' which then makes people think it's misspelled.

Love Kaelyn - Amber, Iris, or Lily

Kaelyn looks better than Kailyn to me. Kae looks like it would rhyme with Mae where as Kai makes me think it rhymes with tie even though I know how Kaitlyn is pronounced.

pikapikachu · 11/05/2019 11:33

I think many would think Kailyn is a misspelling and call her Kaitlyn

Don't go for the Gaelic spelling of the name if you are living in England. I say that as someone with a Gaelic name living in England. Your child won't thank you for it.

I think it's pretty OP. Ignore the twats.

For the record, kaolin is a type of clay. It's just used in that medicine, it's not a medicine in itself. And it's not like calling her Bonjela or something.

I think Kaelyn is beautiful. It reminds me of a women on America's next top model called Kahlen but I prefer your spelling.

As for a middle name, I like Marie as pps have suggested. Or

Kaelyn Jane (KJ),
Kaelyn Louise or
Kaelyn! It's strong enough to carry itself!

God I popped back to see how the OP was getting on with choosing a mn and discovered some patronising pillocks lecturing because they assumed the OP was young Hmm Mumsnet is soul destroyingly vanilla sometimes. (Goes to AIBU in a huff)

God, what a bunch of arseholes on this thread.

OP, I think Kaelyn needs a three syllable middle name, would sound good. Kaelyn Miranda or something.

I think one of the problems is th that 'ae' is not a phoneme in English and so it looks 'wrong' which then makes people think it's misspelled

Aeroplane, archaeology, algae, aesthetic, mediaeval, aerosol, maelstrom, faeries, brae, reggae.....

Christ but MN is full of dull Little Englanders bleating on about things being 'chavvy'.

This. It's fucking embarrassing. If anything this thread demonstrates just want a bunch of snobbish wankers Brits are. Have a word with yourselves.

But not a "chavvy" word of course, make sure it's at least middle class.
