So, here it is, the fourth(!!!) Guessing Game baby names thread. Shock

All credit to @scotstar for creating the game, back in March 2018. Can't believe how far we've come!

Previous threads here:

1: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/baby_names/3189874-guessing-game

2: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/baby_names/3207745-Guessing-game-II

3: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/baby_names/3262724-Guessing-game-III?pg=1â„´=

The game is simple. Guess the name the poster is describing, then it's your turn! Make the clues as fiendish as you like. Grin

All are welcome to join in! @FintyTin, @Ladywillpower, @LadyGAgain and @DuggeeHugs, come join! (Plus others I've forgotten)

This old German name opened Pandora's box in 1929. Her royal connections meant that she waltzed off to one of the Channel Islands with the Doctor.

@Clettercletterthatsbetter has guessed Clara!

Felicity? Name from felicitas ("luck"), Felicity Kendall in the Good Life was married to Tom (Jerry, the mouse, was the neighbour), Felicity the 90s TV show, can't get the scientist clue though!

OP posts:
Ladywillpower · 06/07/2019 08:30

Yes! Well done finallychangedmyusername.
In the 2014 film The Theory of Everything Felicty Jones played the wife of the scientist Stephen Hawking.
Over to you.

finallychangedmyusername · 06/07/2019 09:41

Excellent @Ladywillpower!

Right, my last few clues have been guessed very quickly so I'm hoping the following is a little trickier: Grin

This guy helped give life to the caped crusader - elsewhere in this industry his sidekick is all relative. Musically he's award-winning (yet operates under an alias) and another, along with his chums, expects the princess to be polite.

OP posts:
finallychangedmyusername · 07/07/2019 19:29

Another clue:

The flames were lit, but not by this bloke and his gang, AKA William to some.

OP posts:
Ladywillpower · 08/07/2019 03:58

This really is a tricky one.
Bill/Billy?

finallychangedmyusername · 08/07/2019 13:09

@Ladywillpower- it's not Billy, but the name Billy will help you greatly in getting the correct name!

OP posts:
Ladywillpower · 08/07/2019 16:34

Joel?

finallychangedmyusername · 08/07/2019 16:37

Yep, you got it, Joel! Smile

Joel Schumacher directed Batman movies, Joel Coen - along with his brother Ethan - form the Coen Brothers as film directors. Joel Zimmerman is the DJ behind deadmau5 and Joel Madden is the lead singer with Good Charlotte.

Extra clue: Billy Joel "didn't start the fire". Grin

Here's the baton!

OP posts:
Ladywillpower · 08/07/2019 18:25

Here goes!
I could be an Essex boy, a journalist or possibly a Celtic rugby player.

finallychangedmyusername · 09/07/2019 15:30

Gethin?

OP posts:
kittytiggy · 09/07/2019 16:15

Joey? aha

Ladywillpower · 09/07/2019 20:47

Not Gethin or Joey.
The Essex boy is about to be reunited with his Welsh girl!

finallychangedmyusername · 09/07/2019 21:14

Ooh, Gavin?

OP posts:
Ladywillpower · 09/07/2019 21:45

Yes finallychangedmyusername.
The Essex boy is Gavin from Gavin & Stacey (looking forward to the Christmas special when they will be "reunited")
The journalist is Gavin Estler.
The Celtic rugby players are Gavin Henson (Wales) & Gavin Hastings (Scotland). There are probably more!

finallychangedmyusername · 10/07/2019 19:15

Work and the children have defeated me today, Shock Confused Grin so this may be terrible, I apologise...

This one's a French girl, then a recreational drug and finally is over the top when short.

US TV (90s/00s) gave us at least two, one male and one female: a comedy doctor and comedy father-of-two.

OP posts:
LadyGAgain · 13/07/2019 07:50

Properly wracking my brains here!

finallychangedmyusername · 13/07/2019 08:08

One of these people assisted with making a very long distance call.

OP posts:
finallychangedmyusername · 13/07/2019 08:14

My first sentence describes the name, each syllable at a time....

OP posts:
Ellmau · 13/07/2019 08:42

Elliot(t)?

LadyGAgain · 13/07/2019 12:39

That must be it. And I'm now really cross with myself as I thought of Elliot (scrubs) but couldn't put together the rest of the puzzle. Well done abs great clues!

finallychangedmyusername · 13/07/2019 16:34

You got it, Elliot/Elliott!

French girl = "Elle
Recreational drug= "ee"
Over the top= "OTT"

Elliot the female doctor in Scrubs, correct, plus Elliot Gould played Ross and Monica's dad in Friends.

And Elliott helped E.T. "phone home" Grin

OP posts:
Ellmau · 13/07/2019 17:19

I got it from the phone clue ;)

Next name:

Shepherdess or queen.

LadyGAgain · 14/07/2019 10:42

Amanda?

Ellmau · 14/07/2019 11:18

No.

The queen is medieval.

Ellmau · 15/07/2019 19:04

Time for another clue:

The lion's heart, or perhaps the lion's beard?
