This old German name opened Pandora's box in 1929. Her royal connections meant that she waltzed off to one of the Channel Islands with the Doctor.

The internet has renamed the entitled white woman "Karen"; Megan Mullally portrays the very spoiled and privileged Karen Walker in the TV show Will & Grace.

Singer Karen Carpenter of The Carpenters is the 'warbling woodworker', and the (almost) successful entrepreneur is Karren Brady (almost as she has two rs; there's nothing 'almost' about her phenomenal success ).

The names Katie and Karen both come from the name Katherine.
