So, here it is, the fourth(!!!) Guessing Game baby names thread. Shock

All credit to @scotstar for creating the game, back in March 2018. Can't believe how far we've come!

Previous threads here:

1: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/baby_names/3189874-guessing-game

2: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/baby_names/3207745-Guessing-game-II

3: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/baby_names/3262724-Guessing-game-III?pg=1â„´=

The game is simple. Guess the name the poster is describing, then it's your turn! Make the clues as fiendish as you like. Grin

All are welcome to join in! @FintyTin, @Ladywillpower, @LadyGAgain and @DuggeeHugs, come join! (Plus others I've forgotten)

Right, these are all the names we've described so far...

And since @Ladywillpower correctly guessed @FintyTin's last clue, this is @Ladywillpower**'s latest clue:

This old German name opened Pandora's box in 1929. Her royal connections meant that she waltzed off to one of the Channel Islands with the Doctor.

@Clettercletterthatsbetter has guessed Clara!

Could we please have a new name/clues to a name @Clettercletterthatsbetter? Grin

It’s probably a bit of a lame one but my brain can’t cope with much more (I blame the newborn). Also, apologies if this name has been done recently - I haven’t been keeping up with the thread!

This fortunate lady brings smiles wherever she goes. That is, when she’s not busy planning her upcoming nuptials.

Ellmau · 28/02/2020 10:32

Beatrice?

Clettercletterthatsbetter · 28/02/2020 10:44

@Ellmau yes!

Ellmau · 28/02/2020 11:14

;) Got it from the meaning, confirmed by Princess's wedding ;)

New name:

Loves her cat even if it smells a bit whiffy

finallychangedmyusername · 28/02/2020 13:47

Phoebe?

OP posts:
Ellmau · 28/02/2020 19:20

Yes, easy one ;) (From Friends obviously.)

finallychangedmyusername · 28/02/2020 19:57

Ok...

This Catholic guy is hopeful or friendly in his shortened forms (Or Simon may have another suggestion). He has links to two iconic American shows, one using puppetry and the other a family-centred 80s/90s comedy.

finallychangedmyusername · 02/03/2020 21:54

The aforementioned Simon is Paul Simon.

Al?

yourestandingonmyneck · 03/03/2020 01:33

Alf? Hhmm, no, I don't think I'm quite getting it

Ladywillpower · 03/03/2020 01:48

Frank?

finallychangedmyusername · 03/03/2020 18:51

@yourstandingonmyneck is close!

OP posts:
Ladywillpower · 07/03/2020 12:05

I keep going over the " 50 ways to leave your lover" names but can't match anything!
Can we have another clue please?

finallychangedmyusername · 07/03/2020 23:42

The tv shows are The Cosby Show and Sesame Street.

OP posts:
Ladywillpower · 08/03/2020 07:53

Linus/ Lino?

Ladywillpower · 09/03/2020 01:20

Dave/David?

finallychangedmyusername · 09/03/2020 18:59

Nope and nope sorry! The name is very obscure. And @yourestandingonmyneck was very close!

OP posts:
Ellmau · 09/03/2020 19:25

Albert?

finallychangedmyusername · 09/03/2020 19:56

Not Albert. More obscure.

(Not Jude!) Grin

OP posts:
Ladywillpower · 10/03/2020 01:01

Julio/ Julius?

finallychangedmyusername · 10/03/2020 14:20

Not Julio/Julius. It's not a first name/known by name in either TV show.

OP posts:
Ladywillpower · 11/03/2020 07:44

I am completely stumped (not for the first time).
Are there any more clues around the "Catholic guy" ?

finallychangedmyusername · 11/03/2020 10:53

It's a Catholic name. Smile

Best hint is that Al is a possible nickname.

OP posts:
Ellmau · 11/03/2020 19:55

Alvin?
