MooFeatures · 15/04/2019 03:11

Definitely magazine

Tavannach · 15/04/2019 06:09

Yep, magazine

JenniferJareau · 15/04/2019 06:11

Magazine.

WheresTheEvidence · 15/04/2019 06:29

Know someone called it always think magazine

KooMoo · 15/04/2019 06:31

Nope. Sorry OP. When I saw the tag line I assumed the thread was about the magazine. But you must realise that!

JenniferJareau · 15/04/2019 06:45

Also, people will not call your dd Marie Claire, it'll be shortened to MC.

PlatypusLeague · 15/04/2019 07:00

Magazine

ImHastingsDarling · 15/04/2019 07:48

Magazine. And I would pronounce it the French way. Which isn't a problem of course, unless you wanted the English version.

I am keen on Lenor but won't be using it for obvious reasons Grin

Shinyshit · 15/04/2019 07:51

Magazine

BaronessBomburst · 15/04/2019 07:52

Hastings the other market leader where I live is called Robijn. You could have twins. Lenor and Robijn.
And their elder brother Ariel.

OP it's a magazine.

megrichardson · 15/04/2019 08:05

Magazine

ThanksItHasPockets · 15/04/2019 10:31

I know a Mairi-Claire. She’s universally known as MC. I do think the MA-ree sound scans better than ma-REE.

Someoneonlyyouknow · 15/04/2019 11:06

Magazine. But once the initial birth announcements are out of the way how often would you be saying the middle name? One of the surprising quirks of MN (for me) is how hung up people are on having two names which "sound good together"!! I never introduce myself, or my children, as "Someone middle name"..

PCohle · 15/04/2019 11:13

Also magazine

Antonin · 15/04/2019 14:00

Such a pity that peopl seem to automatically think about the magazine because it’s such a pretty name.

Hopefullysmart · 15/04/2019 17:11

I know a Marie-Claire, pronounced Marry-Claire rather than maREE-claire and I've never thought of the magazine connection. Even when I read the first few responses I didn't get it!Confused I think it's a lovely name. Very classy.

whatausername · 15/04/2019 19:17

Magazine

mathanxiety · 16/04/2019 06:08

Yes I would definitely do it.
I know one IRL. The magazine has never made a difference to her.

Pemba · 16/04/2019 12:34

I don't see what's such a problem about the magazine connection? I imagine it must be quite a common name in France? Pronounced MARRY-Claire, yes. It's pretty. I normally dislike hyphens but in this case I think you do need the hyphen in there, as it's a French name. And the two names are always said together.

SallyWD · 16/04/2019 14:42

I love Marie on its own. Its beautiful and very underused.

Jaz32 · 16/04/2019 20:01

I like it but do think of the magazine. What about Claire Marie instead???

SwedishEdith · 16/04/2019 20:05

I know a few older British Maries pronounced MA Ree. So that pronunciation is not weird to me.

Twickerhun · 16/04/2019 20:08

I know a Marie Claire, her name is her name, no one associates it with a magazine after meeting her.
