We have almost (we think) settled on the name Robyn for our dd due later this year. We can't think of a middle name though!
Our surname is one syllable and starts with T (so we need to be careful the first letters don't spell anything like RAT!)
Any thoughts on Robyn and middle names would be very welcome!

What about Robyn Rae or Robyn Louise?

I don’t like it,sorry. I think the y looks odd, but I don’t like Robin either. Roberta or Robina are nicer.

Robyn has to be the best spelling for that name for girls!!! It doesn't need a second name really

I think the alliteration sounds nice!

MCPT · 14/04/2019 10:37

Thank you all, some lovely ones here! Robyn Camille is gorgeous! And I really like Louisa, Rae and Harriet... And I agree she may not need a middle name, but my step daughter has one and I don't want her to feel left out when she's older!
Not sure about Robina... sounds too much like the drink!

I love it and always have. Now I come to think of it, I can't even think why I didn't then co wider it for either of my DC Hmm

Auntieaunt · 14/04/2019 10:46

I know every name has the possibility to be mocked but I just associate Robyn as in 'Robyn Banks?' I guess it's depending on where in the UK you're from but 'Robyn are you robbing'

WeTookVows · 14/04/2019 10:46

I like quite middle name-y middle names so appreciate may not be to everyone's taste.

Jane

Robyn is a lovely name and I like the Y. It means bright, if meanings make a difference to you - Phoebe also means bright!

MCPT · 14/04/2019 12:39

@WeTookVows I didn't know that was the meaning! I like it even more now!

MCPT · 14/04/2019 12:40

@Auntieaunt haha I guess that's a risk, but I don't think it's too much of an obvious one.. unless our surname was banks, which it's not (phew!)

Robyn Rose is also growing in me! I usually would steer clear of alliteration but I like all the R suggestions!

ZebraKid71 · 14/04/2019 14:36

If you like the alliteration, Robyn Rebecca sounds lovely.

(I am a huge fan of Robyn for a girl, definitely that spelling.)

Crunchymum · 14/04/2019 15:07

Robin is the masculine spelling, Robyn the female.

Any family names you could use?

rba100 · 14/04/2019 17:24

Robin is a boy's name in the UK, whilst it's often a girl's name in the USA. It's a derivative of Robert originally. The 'y' spelling is a stylised variant.

ParisWilton · 14/04/2019 19:09
