Bet you wouldn’t turn your nose up at Clive Owen.

Is that your friend Bertrand? I wish he was my friend Grin

NameChange30 · 25/03/2019 21:53

Oh God! Wilf! I know one - born within days of DS.

NewSchoolNewName · 25/03/2019 21:54

Clive Grin

I think it’s still a bit too soon for that one Grin

BillywilliamV · 25/03/2019 21:56

You cannot hold a tiny precious new born baby in your arms and whisper “Hello Clive!” You just can’t..

SilviaSalmon · 25/03/2019 21:57

I was really hoping you were going to say Geoffrey. Sad

Disfordarkchocolate · 25/03/2019 21:57

I knew a sleazy Clive so its not for me.

IAmNoAngel · 25/03/2019 22:01

no one in iron maiden is called clive ....?

PinkieTuscadero · 25/03/2019 22:02

Clive, Geoffrey, and Roy. There probably is a hipster family with a trio of such sons.

PinkieTuscadero · 25/03/2019 22:07

Sister called Jan.

PinkieTuscadero · 25/03/2019 22:07

Or Kay.

MsChookandtheelvesofFahFah · 25/03/2019 22:09

The more I look at the name it just looks so wrong. It's more of a verb. E.g. to clive, a regional variation of cleave. Or as a nickname for a Scottish name, Clivermore or MacLiver. I made them up, but you get my drift...

ItsInTheSpoon · 25/03/2019 22:10

🤮

Keener · 25/03/2019 22:10

Clive, Malcolm, Geoffrey, the baby triplets. With paunches, golf handicaps and Masonic memberships.

CharlyAngelic · 25/03/2019 22:12

Thought you were going to write Guy .

MitziK · 25/03/2019 22:18

Clive. A name I associate with late middleaged gentlemen of Caribbean ancestry. With at least one elderly parent mad about cricket.

JeanBodel · 25/03/2019 22:21

Malcolm I now associate with Firefly.

KissingInTheRain · 25/03/2019 22:23

I think ‘Clive’ has something about it.

Clive of India. Sits well with the other great Victorian figures. And there are more recent admirable Clives like Clive James and Clive Lloyd.

And it’s no stupider than most MN baby name suggestions.

CrossedToTheDarkSide · 25/03/2019 22:27

Grin My Dad’s name is Clive and he’s definitely born before 1996!! Maybe closer to 1896! Wink

Chinks123 · 25/03/2019 22:30

I’d laugh but I have a friend who’s just named their ds Bruce. I just can’t look her in the eye as every time she says it I get a mental image of Bruce bogtrotter. “You can do it Bruce”

GabrielleNelson · 25/03/2019 22:30

I've heard much, much worse!

I like Nigel. I seem to be almost alone there...

Bowchicawowow · 25/03/2019 22:33

Awful name.

averylongtimeago · 25/03/2019 23:11

averylongtimeago · 25/03/2019 23:13

And I'm sorry, but because of the horrible toad, I can never like the name "Nigel"

Gedge77 · 25/03/2019 23:19

KurriKurri · 25/03/2019 23:44
