Zsa Zsa as a nickname at home for an Elizabeth? A bit more interesting than Liza or Betsy? Or daft? What are your thoughts?

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
dinkydolphin · 25/03/2019 20:12

Lol

Creatureofthenight · 25/03/2019 20:14

Zsa Zsa is the name of Norrie’s teddy bear on Hey Duggee Grin

DramaAlpaca · 25/03/2019 20:15

Yes it's daft. Assuming you're pregnant, I'm going to blame your hormones.

JeremyIronsBenFolds · 25/03/2019 20:16

(Possibly outing) I was at school with a girl called this as her actual name, not a nickname. No one said anything about it (because she was a terrifying bully). But could be cute as your personal nickname for her.

LloydColeandtheCoconuts · 25/03/2019 20:32

I think it's cute too but I'd probably snicker if I heard someone using the name to call their child but I'm immature Grin

mammmamia · 25/03/2019 20:36

There are so many lovely nicknames for Elizabeth... Zsa Zsa is awful and not even very easy to say.

DailyFailAreTwats · 25/03/2019 20:44

I know a Zsa Zsa as a family nick name for an Alexandra.

PinkieTuscadero · 25/03/2019 20:59

If she comes out of the womb wearing furry mules and a feather boa, I say go for it.

Gunpowder · 25/03/2019 21:01

Ooh I LOVE IT!

PotteringAlong · 25/03/2019 21:01

Like Zsa Zsa Gabor?

Peachbubble · 25/03/2019 21:02

It's a nn for the Hungarian form of Susannah, isn't it?

WanderingTrolley1 · 25/03/2019 21:05

Oh dear. I’d advise against it, personally.

Chocolateisfab · 25/03/2019 21:07

Zara?

MayFayner · 25/03/2019 21:07

peach that’s actually Zsuzsi

WoahThereMama · 25/03/2019 21:09

As in Gabor?

I don’t get the link to Elizabeth at all tbh.

Ohyesiam · 25/03/2019 21:10

It’s a nickname, why not? You should hear the daft things my kids get called at home.

happymummy12345 · 25/03/2019 21:11

It reminded me of the character who was in Eastenders (Tina's daughter) to be 100% honest. That's the first thing I thought of.

MulderitsmeX · 25/03/2019 21:14

Love the name but dont see how it relates to elizabeth. Maybe a stand alone name?

Ps i would automatically think "gabor" but she waa pretty cool so thats ok

Cotswoldmama · 25/03/2019 21:18

I don't get the link to Elizabeth either. I had a hamster called Zsa Zsa when I was a child!

AuntMarch · 25/03/2019 21:19

I get it (EliZAbeth) but I am not keen. My first thought was Hector's house.

MaryBoBary · 25/03/2019 21:35

I don’t personally like it - sounds so exotic for a nickname for such a dull name (sorry, not a fan of Elizabeth).

I know someone called Elizabeth but known by everyone as Lally. Don’t know if that’s a common shortening for that name or not but that’s what she goes by at work etc.

WoahThereMama · 25/03/2019 21:38

Aunt but the ZA in Elizabeth isn’t pronounced the same as Zsa?

wizzler · 25/03/2019 21:44

Like a pp I immediately thought of He tors House.

sue51 · 25/03/2019 21:47

No. It sounds like a name for a very small dog.

TiggeryBear · 25/03/2019 21:48

@Creatureofthenight that was my first thought too! Grin
