Zsa Zsa as a nickname at home for an Elizabeth? A bit more interesting than Liza or Betsy? Or daft? What are your thoughts?

Just wait and see. You don't have to pick the nickname now. The best ones come naturally as they grow up.

LinoleumBlownapart · 26/03/2019 02:01

I agree with bridget, nicknames grow. My children and niece have nicknames that have very little to do with or are not commonly associated with their actual names.

Keener · 26/03/2019 04:49

I always wonder when people ‘preplan’ nicknames whether they also organise their own surprise parties and iron their knickers.

Whoops75 · 26/03/2019 04:59

Fine as a pet name at home but not for others to use.

Kokeshi123 · 26/03/2019 06:56

If I heard someone call this one out in the park, I'd be looking around for a Pekinese puppy to be honest.

Lobsterquadrille2 · 26/03/2019 08:19

I know someone who has a chihuahua called Zsa Zsa. It suits her as she's very high maintenance (dog not friend). For a child .... no.

megrichardson · 26/03/2019 08:33

I really like it! Go for it!

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 26/03/2019 11:30

I like it, but Not as a nn for Elizabeth.
Where do you get Zsa Zsa for Elizabeth. Just use it as a name its own right.

AuntMarch · 28/03/2019 06:56

Non it's not the same sound but its closer than some nn you get!

But I still don't like it

Whereareyouspot · 28/03/2019 06:58

Noooooo!

What about Libby as a nn?

Innernutshell · 28/03/2019 07:05

Za-za spelling might be easier.

PregnantSea · 28/03/2019 07:08

It's daft as a brush but I think it's fine to have a daft nickname at home. Pretty much anything goes, I'd say.

redwoodmazza · 28/03/2019 07:09

Like Zsazsa The Cat in Hector's House??? LOL

Cookit · 30/03/2019 07:56

Do home nicknames really matter? As long as she’s Elizabeth she will likely be something else (more conventional) to her friends.

Innernutshell · 30/03/2019 08:50

Wasn't it Kiki the cat in Hectors House - or was that the frog? Confused

nocluenoidea · 30/03/2019 21:56

My friend has a Zara and calls her Zsa Zsa, maybe Zara is an option?

Ribbonsonabox · 30/03/2019 21:57

YES!! Love it!

EmperorBallpitine · 30/03/2019 22:02

"Boobies mean Rubies" gotta love a bit of zsa zsa

Sessy19 · 30/03/2019 22:02

You can choose ANY nn for any formal name you choose....that’s your right as a parent.

My brother is Charlie (just Charlie, not Charles, I know....calm down everyone! 😂) and we’ve always called him Chips.

My niece is called Emily, and is always known as Chops. How do you get to that???? Well, her mother calls her that, so all her friends do too. I know, that actually happens. Crazy! 🙄

BertrandRussell · 30/03/2019 22:05

“Just use it as a name its own right.”

Please don’t!

BarbieJellyBabyBrain · 30/03/2019 22:06

No, honey.

SauvingnonBlanketyBlanc · 30/03/2019 22:13

It's one of zoe zebra's little sisters in Peppa Pig

WoollyMummoth · 30/03/2019 22:14

Dear god no.

I loved Hector’s House!

EssentialHummus · 30/03/2019 22:18

You should hear the daft things my kids get called at home.

This. My toddler DD has a very classy MN approved name but only answers to Squidgy and rice cakes.

NuffingChora · 30/03/2019 22:28

@jeremyironsbenfolds If this was in a place beginning with E then I know exactly who you mean 😂. Can’t be many of them about...
