Alana or Grace?

Help me decide please

Alana. Grace is so overused.

Love Alana but spelt Alannah

Grace or Alannah.

Not keen on the Alana spelling as it looks too anal ish.

Do you have any good ideas about the middle names that could go along with the last name “Thompson” ?

Yeah the usual spelling is Alannah, and I think it's nicer.

Alannah Grace is lovely. I think Grace as a first name has become a bit overused.

Another vote for Alana

Its embarrassing that I know this but alana Thompson is honey boo boo's real name, so I'd go with grace!

Also, A quick google suggests Alana is the original and Alannah is a variant. And darkgreener says Alana has been consistently more popular/used over the last 20 years than Alannah.

I think maybe Alana is the female version of Alan in the way that Philippa is the female version of Phillip.

But Alannah is the anglicised form of 'a leanbh', the Irish term of endearment from mother to child. It basically means 'my child'.

I really like Alana. It's on my list. I like that it has nickname potential with Lana, Lani and Allie. I find a Grace a bit boring personally.

Going against the grain I much prefer Grace. It's a classic name. I can't say the same for Alana. And yes it's honey boo boo

Also I have a feeling that Alana Thompson was one of the Thompson Twins but not many would remember them.

Unfortunately my daughter has the exact name of a pop star who wasn't a pop star in 1997 when I had her.

I would pronounce Alana and Alannah differently.

I much prefer Grace. It’s a lovely name and is much stronger as a first name than as a middle name where it is commonly used.
