There are some names like Connie and Matilda.... Popular ones that I hate and just don't get.
Any names that are popular you just don't get?!

The name Wyatt for a girl, about the worst I have ever heard

Orangeslemon24 · 20/03/2019 16:01

Well, we all have our opinions. I love the name Poppy, I know two grown women and and elderly lady called it and it suits them. Gorgeous name.

Sparkly124 · 20/03/2019 22:51

I really don't like Poppy. It's one letter away from Poopy Blush and sounds way too cutesy and silly

adayatthebeach · 20/03/2019 23:06

Made up names with odd spellings. It’s popular with African/ Americans.

Sophisticatedsarcasm · 20/03/2019 23:09

I hate
Olivia, Amelia, Florence, Matilda, Oliver, Benjamin. I’m not even sure why
Dd best friend is called Olivia but I just can not stand the name.

In my head, Agnes, Agatha, Morag etc should be beautiful names. Lovely meanings. And associations with lambs too (am a Latin nerd). But I just can't get over an 'ag' sound in a name because there are hardly any 'ag' words that have nice connotations:
Hag
Bag
Slag
Nag
Rag
Gag
Lag
Sag
WAG

I know this is bonkers and I have only ever met nice people with these names.... 🤷🏼‍♀️

Beverley for a girl. Worst name ever. Or Beverly for a boy.

Moominfan · 21/03/2019 08:33

Adayatthebeach have you thought those odd spelling names might just be part of a culture your ignorant to?

evilharpy · 21/03/2019 08:37

Any girl’s name beginning with G sounds ugly to my ears.

QueenoftheBiscuitTin · 21/03/2019 14:05

I'm not keen on Faye.
