Twins Names

Currently struggling with our twins names, to make it more complicated we don’t know what we’re having (their not identical). Currently we have:-

Girls
Alice - favourite atm
Florence
Zara

Boys
Albert
Gabriel - I love this but I’m afraid of school teasing
Alexander

To complicate things even more if we had boy/girl twins I wouldn’t want them to have a name with the same initial as I don’t want them to be “

I’m 30 weeks gone now and there’s a chance that I’ll deliver earlier than 37 weeks so we really need to get a wriggle on.

Any suggestions? X

What about Alice and Henry?

StellaRae · 27/02/2019 15:50

I really like

Alice & Florence

Alice & Gabriel
Florence & Gabriel
Florence & Albert

Alexander & Gabriel

dreichuplands · 27/02/2019 15:51

The Gabriel I know from dc's school is called Gabe by his peers and has no issues.
My twins don't have the same first initials but have ended up being called by names with the first initials, one is known by their middle name. It isn't a big deal they are in separate classes at school and have separate friendships groups. Just pick your favorite names.

Didyeeaye · 27/02/2019 15:54

I really like Gabriel and doubt he would get picked on about it. Gabe is also a cool nickname. My favourite combos from your lists are;
Alice and Zara
Gabriel and Alexander
Alice and Gabriel

Wildcard suggestions;
Aria and Eloise
Elliot and Reece
Freya and Barnaby

I have a Gabriel. He's Gabe to nearly all. I can't remember a single time his name was an issue. He's nearly 14 and the only one in his school.

golddustwomen · 27/02/2019 16:07

God I love Gabriel. It's beautiful! Goes really well with Alice too.

PippaParty · 27/02/2019 16:09

Flo and Bertie ( or Albie)

(Florence and Albert)

daisypond · 27/02/2019 16:10

I like all your names except Albert. I really like both Gabriel and Alexander. Alice probably tops it for the girls' names.

IggyAce · 27/02/2019 16:12

I like:
Alice and Gabriel
Gabriel and Alexander
Alice and Zara

RayaJambalaya · 27/02/2019 16:47

Alice & Zara
Zara & Alexander
Alexander & I guess Gabriel based on you not wanting the names to have the same initial. But I'm not massively on Gabriel, Albert or Florence for that matter. (but who cares what I think!)

RayaJambalaya · 27/02/2019 16:54

On = into

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 27/02/2019 17:24

Gabriels are everywhere, so Don't worry about any teasing.

Gabriel and Alexander
Zara and Alice.
Gabriel and Florence
Alexander and Zara.

didihearthatright123456 · 27/02/2019 19:05

Thanks guys, seems like Gabriel generally is a winner but Albert not so much.

I do like the combo of Alice & Gabriel so I think that will be our boy/girl pick

Xx

Aren't same sex twins always identical?

  • Sorry to derail
Awwlookatmybabyspider · 27/02/2019 19:40

Arebt all same sex twins identical.

No.. I went to school with fraternal twins. You wouldnt have even thought they were cousins let alone twins.
Also believe it or not The Olsen Twins are fraternal not identical.

dreichuplands · 27/02/2019 19:49

crunchy if two eggs gets released and fertilised you end up with fraternal twins regardless of the sexes which could be any combination. One egg split during the process gives you an identical twin I believe and is rarer.

gambaspilpil · 27/02/2019 19:51

How exciting!

I like Alice and Alexander, Grace and Gabriel (I know two Gabriel’s and no issues with teasing),

GeorgieTheGorgeousGoat · 27/02/2019 19:53

They don’t have to be identical but I’m wondering how the OP knows since you can’t tell whilst they’re in the womb.

17caterpillars1mouse · 27/02/2019 19:53

Alice and Florence
Gabriel and Alexander

Florence and Gabriel

NuffSaidSam · 27/02/2019 19:56

'but I’m wondering how the OP knows since you can’t tell whilst they’re in the womb.'

Non-identical twins have their own sac and own placenta. Identical twins share. I think.

NuffSaidSam · 27/02/2019 19:58

They're all lovely names.

I'd go for Alice or Zara because Florence is too popular.

Maybe Gabriel for a boy.

Zara and Gabriel sound nice together together.

didihearthatright123456 · 27/02/2019 20:07

@GeorgieTheGorgeousGoat my babies have their own sacs and placenta’s which you can tell on the scan. Identical twins share a placenta
