How to spell middle name!?

I had my gorgeous girl on Thursday and she is now 4 days old, going to register her birth on Thursday.
Her name is Alyssa. Her middle name will be Jay, this is to honour my dad who passed away when I was 28 weeks pregnant with her. His full name was James.
I'm unsure if I should spell it Jay or Jaye.
What do you think is better?

Jaye.

PrimeraVez · 04/02/2019 17:00

Jay

Congratulations!

merrybloominchristmas · 04/02/2019 17:02

Jay

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 04/02/2019 17:06

Jaye

lottiegarbanzo · 04/02/2019 17:09

Jay

Jay is a 'real name'; the name of a bird and the usual shortening of other J names. Jaye looks made up - like a J version of Faye, or Jayne with a letter missing.

and congratulations btw Smile Flowers

NicoleNoPants · 04/02/2019 17:11

Congratulations OP! I like it with an E

daisypond · 04/02/2019 17:13

Jay.

Jay, Like the bird. My dh is James, I call him Jay, looks funny written down rather than saying it! But yes, Jaye looks a bit made up whereas Jay is lovely.

ArchbishopOfBanterbury · 04/02/2019 17:15

Jay. Like the bird.

5BlueHydrangea · 04/02/2019 17:18

Look at the birds, do you like the idea of her being associated with one of them? I think they are rather gorgeous.

You could even go with James itself. - Blake Livelys daughter is called James. I wouldnt use it up front on a girl personally but I think anything goes for middles!

Peachbubble · 04/02/2019 18:12

Congratulations! I'd go for Jay, like the bird.

Cosmoa · 04/02/2019 18:50

Sorry for your loss, but congratulations on the arrival of your baby girl! I think Alyssa James would be really lovely 😊

ShowOfHands · 04/02/2019 18:53

Congratulations. I'd use James actually!

Somethingsmellsnice · 04/02/2019 18:55

Or Jaime as a girl's version.

Shadow1234 · 04/02/2019 19:03

Sorry for your loss, and congratulations on the birth of your baby daughter. Alyssa is a beautiful name and Jay (spelt this way is much nicer and more fitting).

thatsmyspace · 04/02/2019 19:04

I'd use James too

SingaSong12 · 04/02/2019 19:05

Jay

ReaganSomerset · 04/02/2019 19:05

I'd go for Jayne, personally. Of Jay or Jaye I'd have Jaye.

BrizzleMaverick · 04/02/2019 19:34

I'd go with James as well.

ChubsyMcChubFace · 04/02/2019 19:37

I like James too!

Alyssa James sounds outrageously cool!

If you prefer Jay though, I’d go with Jay, like the beautiful bird.

milesandmiles · 04/02/2019 19:44

Another one for James!

Sophronia · 04/02/2019 19:50

I’d use James too.

hendricksy · 04/02/2019 19:52

Probably very outing but both my kids have the same middle name which is jay .. I won't divulge the family reason for it but it's a nod to someone close...I love it , it's a great initial visually for middle names 🤗
