I have come up with a shortlist of 3 for my immune arrival so, out of the 3, which would you choose :)?

Dominic
Gregory
Oliver.

Dominic :)

I think most people here would say Dominic or Gregory, because they’re not fans of popular names.
But honestly, I’m not a fan of Dominic or Gregory. I can’t imagine a millennial baby called Greg (also think of that budget sandwich place called Greggs).
Oliver is the nicest albeit popular. But so what? It’s a nice classic well rounded name.

Gregory - can be Greg or Rory

I also like both Dominic and Oliver. I know a few of both though, i know no little Gregory's and its a lovely name

SleepWarrior · 04/02/2019 05:06

I love Gregory (or Gregor). Oliver and Dominic are nice too but not keen on the inevitable Oli or Dom, whereas I do like Greg.

Picknickers · 04/02/2019 05:17

Gregory is my favourite of the three.

Shadow1234 · 04/02/2019 06:09

Dominic

Willow1992 · 04/02/2019 06:25

I like Gregory and Greg, you never hear it these days! Not keen on Dom which Dominic will end up being called. I get what PP is saying about popular names on MN and it wouldn't usually bother me but isn't Oliver the most popular boys name, or almost? I worked in a classroom a couple of years ago with 3 Olivers, they are everywhere! I admit it sounds nice though.

tammytoby · 04/02/2019 06:45

Gregory and Dominic are both lovely.

Oliver is so dull from overuse. Wasn't it nr 1 for many years...?

ohmywhattodo · 04/02/2019 06:54

I have a 14yr old Gregory (never worried about the Greggs bakers connection as their are loads of shops that have people’s names) He goes mainly by Greg nowadays. Also love Dominic though!

JohnnyMcGrathSaysFuckOff · 04/02/2019 06:54

Dominic

I do know a baby Gregory! He is about 18 mos.

cece · 04/02/2019 07:13

Gregory.
It's what I wanted to call ds2 but DH said no.

smeerf · 04/02/2019 07:29

Dominic was my favourite name but couldn't be used as our surname starts with D. Little Dom!

Greyhound22 · 04/02/2019 07:29

I like all of them.

Dominic I think. Not really used anymore (I know two about 40ish) but actually it's lovely.

Rainbowqueeen · 04/02/2019 07:34

Dominic

Luckingfovely · 04/02/2019 07:37

Dominic or Gregor.

Oliver way too popular now.

megletthesecond · 04/02/2019 07:38

Gregory or Dominic.

Oliver has been overused for the last decade.

DitzyPrints · 04/02/2019 07:39

Love Gregory
Oliver is a bit boring (sorry!)
Dominic I don’t like at all

Sophronia · 04/02/2019 09:07

Gregory or Dominic. Oliver is overused.

MikeUniformMike · 04/02/2019 09:45

Dominic - I don't like Dom at all, so no.
Gregory - It's fine, but I've never met a nice Greg. It makes me think of Greg Wise, which is a plus.
Oliver - classic but very popular. Not keen on Olly. Know lots of nice Olivers.

A name you might like is Benedict.

ohmywhattodo · 04/02/2019 10:02

@mikeuniformmike I can assure you that you’d like my son Gregory - he’s such a lovely lad. He suffers from anxiety - he’s always been a people pleaser and is absolutely fantastic with small children - always has been from being a small child himself. He’s also exceptionally talented at every spirt he ever tries but his anxiety holds him back from actually doing them.

ohmywhattodo · 04/02/2019 10:03

*Spirt = sport! sorry op for hijacking! Xx

MikeUniformMike · 04/02/2019 10:06

I knew a nice Gregory when I was a kid. A couple of colleagues called Greg put me off, and there's that Gregg bloke off the telly. ugh.
I'm sure your little Gregory is awesome.
OP, call your DS Gregory.

Joeybee · 04/02/2019 10:20

Dominic - Love that it s quite a classic name and Dom is a nice nickname. Some may think this name is dated...certainly there were lot of Dominics in the 80's and 90's. Personally I think it's an awesome name though.
Gregory - My fave on your list - it has a traditional, old man charm to it, and is totally ready for a revival. Also I think you could get the nickname Rory from this, which is adorable.
Oliver - Personally I am not a fan of it (not because I don't like the name (It's one of my fave names) because it is too popular.
