Anna or Lara?

And what is your thoughts on the Ana spelling...or is it too frozen?

Prefer Anna spelling.

If you want “a-na” go for Anna.
Ana may be pronounced “arna”.

I like the spelling 'Anna' best. When I see 'Ana' I feel like it reads too much like 'anal'. 😳 (apologies to those with it spelt that way)

But of the two names I like Lara best. It's really strong and elegant. Passes the Dr/DJ test too.

Haha ordinarygirl I’ve never thought of that! Though I’m not sure I want her to grow up to be a dj!

Also I didn’t realise that Anna from frozen spelt it “anna” as her pronounciation is arh-na, I assumed it was Ana!

Also i was quite surprised to see that Anna was number 22 in popularity last year, compared to Lara which was I think 92. I guess frozen may have helped Anna increase in popularity. But I hope that doesn’t make the name faddy. Though I have never ever come across a young Anna, I always thought of it more of a mature name!

Anna is pretty popular. I know a few - from age 20 down to 1. And some older ones as well. But it's a nice name.

What about a mix of both? I have a friend who called her daughter Lana, it's beautiful. Anna and Lara are both. I've but Anna is nicest.

Oh really? I got the results from a website called Britishbabynames. Though perhaps it’s not the official popularity ratings...
