What do you all think of the name Etta?
Saw it today and it hit me straight away. Think its one that would grow well.
I have a short surname so I'd probably use both first and middle name. Wouldnt double barrel it just use both together.
Middle name is set in stone as Rose.
So possibly Etta Rose.

Love.

LuxuryWoman2018 · 01/02/2019 16:59

Gorgeous, just lovely.

TheVanguardSix · 01/02/2019 16:59

It’s a great name!

Crystalblue13 · 01/02/2019 17:00

Really like it!

NamelessEnsign · 01/02/2019 17:07

I know a very new baby Etta (still newborn). It’s lovely. I wonder why it is suddenly popping up everywhere!

Pieceofpurplesky · 01/02/2019 17:07

Beautiful and timeless

mycatplotsdeath · 01/02/2019 17:14

Lovely name

IVflytrap · 01/02/2019 17:26

Etta is nice. Etta Rose makes me think of the Rosetta stone. Not a bad association, I suppose.

Rose is probably the most common girls middle name at the moment. It seems to have taken over from May.

Topofthehills · 01/02/2019 17:29

It's nice. I might expect it to be short for something like Henrietta. Etta James was Jamesetta something, I believe. But no big deal as a stand alone name.

Agree with PP that Etta Rose is a bit Rosetta Stone! I would choose another middle name.

Tootzatwhoa · 01/02/2019 17:31

Very 50's in a good way.

Bigonesmallone3 · 01/02/2019 17:33

Love it

Nonameyet1 · 01/02/2019 18:53

I’m going against the grain but I don’t really like it.
I don’t like the sound of it. But the joy of names - we all like something different.

SallyWD · 01/02/2019 19:04

Etta Rose is lovely

ScreamingValenta · 01/02/2019 19:05

I see it as a shortening of Henrietta.

MikeUniformMike · 01/02/2019 19:05

Etta Rose sounds painful. Did it have thorns?

RavenWings · 01/02/2019 19:06

Etta Rose definitely sounds painful Grin

I like Etta, but Rose is so boring.

Hassled · 01/02/2019 19:07

I love it. Etta James was such a strong, amazing woman - it's a great name to pass on.

cananybodyfindmesomeonetolove · 01/02/2019 19:10

It's nice to have the option of a longer name like Henrietta. I agree that Etta Rose isn't a great combo...(Ate A Rose)

CreativeMumma · 01/02/2019 19:16

I love it.
I would just use Etta.

coragreta · 01/02/2019 19:18

I also thought Rosetta Stone. Plus rose is really overused.
I also like Etta short for Juliet.

SlimGin · 01/02/2019 19:24

Love it. I don't think Rose as middle name is a problem. If it became an issue you could always just start saying 'Etta' rather than 'Etta rose', which is what most people would do anyway.

ZebraKid71 · 01/02/2019 21:11

I like it but it sounds like a nickname to me.

Plus I live in Yorkshire where no one pronounces 't's in the middle of words so it doesn't sound great here!

tammytoby · 01/02/2019 21:12

Short for Henrietta!

DramaAlpaca · 02/02/2019 00:17

I don't like it at all. Sorry.

goldengummybear · 02/02/2019 00:19

Were you inspired by the Rosetta Stone?
