39 weeks and still can't decide, we've been going back and forth on names through ths pregnancy. One name I keep going back to is Jed but I'm still unsure as I've mentioned it to a few people who haven't been keen on it.
Also if anyone has any suggestions on middle names, I'm thinking something long

I like Jed - it’s sweet and will age well.

Yes agree with a long middle name:
Jed Alexander?

Justkeeprollingalong · 01/02/2019 09:04

I like it. Also Jeb (short for Jebadiah to give him a 'proper name'). Both strong names.

RedDwarves · 01/02/2019 09:08

I don't like it, because I went to school with a Jed who was an utter weirdo. I can't get past the association with him!

Nampoo · 01/02/2019 09:09

I really really hope your surname isn't Ward or Wood Grin

IVflytrap · 01/02/2019 09:13

I really like it. I went to school with a Jeddy, who was lovely.

HalfBloodPrincess · 01/02/2019 09:15

I know a Jed - he’s in his 30s now and has always been the coolest guy I’ve known!

Happilyacceptingcookies · 01/02/2019 09:19

I know of a Jed, I like it

Canshopwillshop · 01/02/2019 09:20

I really like it - it’s quite cool.

Thishatisnotmine · 01/02/2019 09:23

He will either be impossibly cool, or a bit, you know, odd. No middle ground Grin
Quite like it. Short and fun. Definitely need a longer middle name.

haverhill · 01/02/2019 09:25

My DB is Jeremy but has always been Jez. Jed is quite cool but it does sound like it should be short for something.

tellmewhenthespaceshiplands · 01/02/2019 09:37

I really like it however the name will always make me think of Alan Partridge

Lwmommy · 01/02/2019 09:56

My brother is Jethro shortened to Jed

user1494670108 · 01/02/2019 09:56

I like it, my first thought was Jedward, but that probably won't be what people think of for much longer tbh

Livedandlearned · 01/02/2019 09:59

My friends dad is called Jed, we like to call him Jeddary and Jeddidah. That doesn't really help sorry Blush

SallyWD · 01/02/2019 10:42

I like it. Cool and strong.

tammytoby · 01/02/2019 11:30

Sounds like a nickname.

TillyTheTiger · 01/02/2019 11:41

It's one of my favourite names, but DH hates it so can't use it. Makes me think of Jed Bartlet from The West Wing (it's short for Josiah Edward in that case).
So lots of possibilities for longer names with Jed as a nickname:
Joseph Edward
James Edwin
Joshua Edmund
Or any combination of J-Ed names!

MikeUniformMike · 01/02/2019 12:40

I know a Ged - short for Gerald.

BigusBumus · 01/02/2019 13:28

Jed is a great name. I know two, both from upper middle class families.

starkid · 01/02/2019 13:44

I'm not a fan, sorry

RiverTam · 01/02/2019 13:46

I really don't like it, Jeds are twatty arrogant dude bros in my head!

Shadow1234 · 01/02/2019 15:21

I knew a Jed years ago and always thought it was a really nice, unusual name (that was 30 years ago), and still think its a great name.

Scandaloso · 01/02/2019 15:24

I quite like it. Nice and simple and not too popular. I'm picturing some pioneering type in the Wild West, chopping down trees with an axe to build a log cabin and generally being a bit buff and manly.

Scandaloso · 01/02/2019 15:24

Jed Nathaniel

tammytoby · 01/02/2019 16:59

Yes, short for Gerald!
