Jed- thoughts on the name?

39 weeks and still can't decide, we've been going back and forth on names through ths pregnancy. One name I keep going back to is Jed but I'm still unsure as I've mentioned it to a few people who haven't been keen on it.
Also if anyone has any suggestions on middle names, I'm thinking something long

Does nobody else use the term ‘Jed head’ to refer to the tip of the penis?! Is that a regional thing??

We are huge West Wing fans and really wanted to call DS Josiah nn Jed.
It doesn’t go with our surname

Jed can be a nickname for Jared. I like it.

I've known 2 both went to prison. 1 was the most terrifying bloke I ever met and the other sold drugs from a pub before dying in his 20s.
Scary men, scary name

Not too fond of many of the names Jed can be short for. I quite like Jared but that's about it and I feel like I'd just end up mostly using Jed. I've only met one Jed, I went to school with one and he was nice so never had a negative impression of the name. MIL said it's too short and plain but I am very drawn to it

I've only known one, and he had ugly full-sleeve tattoos and wore a beanie hat all the time, even indoors.

It makes me think of the Duggars. I think they have a Jedidiah “Jed”

There's a character in Ian McEwan's Enduring Love called Jed who's a stalker. I wouldn't use it just because of that (sorry).

He was the drug dealer in Bridget Jones' diary 2 who got her banged up in a Thai prison.

Never heard it other than that reference. Unusual and I quite like it.
