Everyone I speak to thinks I’m crazy and it’s the hormones but I have always loved noun and verb names. The surname is very common and so I’ve always wanted their forename to stand out.

I love Rocket but DH has said I am mad. Other names I love are Tiger and Canon.

Please can I have any more suggestions of noun names that won’t make my DH think I’ve lost the plot

Bookcase (for a boy, obviously!)
Duvet for a girl

Any nature name so Rowan, Willow, Hazel, Robin, Wren etc could work.

Kettle.

Canon as in the canon of English Literature? Unconventional.

BreakfastAtSquiffanys · 31/01/2019 23:01

I assumed it was an ecclesiastical Canon.
I'd aim higher with Bishop.
(strewth, that actually sounds OK as a name!)

elQuintoConyo · 31/01/2019 23:01

Canon? 🤣 He'd have to have big balls to carry that off!

Fox is about as animally as I'd get, and that's just because of the delightful Mulder

How about:
Peanut
Jodhpur
Felipe-flop (that famous French footwear)
Finger.

Some nouns:
Name
Husband
Plot
Noun
Verb

The first three can be verbs as well, if you want the name to multitask.

doomclaw · 31/01/2019 23:02

I have come across a couple of 2 year old boys called Archer recently .

Or maybe Hunter?

erja · 31/01/2019 23:05

Also love Tiger. I actually think Rocket could grow on me! Blush

What about...
Bear?
Grey?
Clay?
Pluto?
Sage?
Atlas?

Teddy?

Rain?
Echo?

Some of my favourites!

Scandaloso · 31/01/2019 23:15

If I heard of someone called Canon Smith I'd expect to meet an elderly and bespectacled man of the cloth, not a little kid! Grin

Scandaloso · 31/01/2019 23:17

I assumed it was an ecclesiastical Canon.
I'd aim higher with Bishop.

Reese Witherspoon has a son called Deacon.

Unambitious.

Tiger is kinda cool. Canon is awful though and Im sure one of Jamie Oliver's kids was River Rocket or something? It's ok. I quite like nature names like Aspen, Willow etc or even colours like Cyan, Blue etc
