Florence or Eliza?

Can't decide between these two names. DD1 is Lucy.

Both lovely. I have a 22 year old Florence. Which do you prefer? Ellie/Nellie or Flo/Floss/Flossie/ Florrie?

I don’t think Eliza would necessarily become Ellie or Nellie. They don’t feel like natural shortenings to me. Anyway, at five letters, Eliza is short enough and much nicer than Ellie or Nellie.

I prefer Eliza because it’s more unusual. And I think Florence WILL get shortened to Flo (I know one) which always has menstrual connotations to me Grin

Eliza is nice,and I don't get those nn @RuthW it will be shortened to Liza not Ellie or Nellie 😬 where did that come from.

I have an Eliza. She's 5 and it's never been shortened.

I love Florence too! Nearly had that for her middle name.
