Argh, I'm stuck and looking for some inspiration please.

I have a DS called Harris, 2 years after we named him there is a Harris every where I turn. Just found out we are having a DS2. I had my heart set on Struan but they are popping up all over the place.

We are toying over Angus and Innes but not really loving either as much.

Any thoughts? Smile

Donal?

OrgyofSausages · 29/01/2019 12:19

I love the names Douglas and Dougray.

Gingerkittykat · 29/01/2019 12:23

What about Malcolm ? There aren’t enough Malcolm’s these days.

I thought Malcolm was the English version of Callum?

I lov

like Lachlan, Lewis, Bruce, Duncan and Craig.

I used to like Donald, but got a feeling it won't be popular right now. Donal is still a good name though.

WobbleTime · 29/01/2019 12:25

Nairn?
Munro?
Ruaridh?
Blair?

FurzeandHarebells · 29/01/2019 12:45

Ginger it’s Scottish. It comes from Gaelic meaning “disciple of St Columba”.

Scotland had 4 Kings called Malcolm.

Sholto?

mumofbun · 29/01/2019 13:22

I was just about to suggest Brodie as a first name and then saw your surname post!!

What about something like Alistair?

mumofbun · 29/01/2019 13:24

Or Lewis? I've never met a horrible Lewis! And it doesn't seem to be around much at the moment.

MikeUniformMike · 29/01/2019 13:37

Mungo.

weegiehere · 29/01/2019 13:38

I really like Fergus. It's on my shortlist.

FurzeandHarebells · 29/01/2019 13:43

She can’t use Lewis if she already has a Harris! Grin

Lewis was 4th most popular baby name (boys) in 2017, I think.

Full list from Scottish Government here. Perhaps might be helpful?:

Kaykay06 · 29/01/2019 15:43

I have a Cameron middle name scott
Both nice scottish names

Macaroonmayhem · 29/01/2019 15:48

Flora beat me to it to say, get the list of names registered last year and check anything you like to see how popular it was. We had a rule that if there were more than 20 registered the year before in a name we , we binned it.

BigGlasses · 29/01/2019 15:51

Harris and Struan would 'go' very nicely. They are a similar vibe. Struan is becoming more popular (I know 3 under 5 and I don't know that many kids) but it's still not going to be top 10 any time soon

weebarra · 29/01/2019 15:54

I have an Alasdair.
He was maybe going to be Innes, Torin or Murdo.

mumofbun · 29/01/2019 16:00

FurzeandHarebells

I liked the islands connection haha! I have a couple of friends who have the names of two of the islands and people hardly even realise :)
