Elliot or Linus?

We’re really struggling with boys names and have narrowed down lots of names that we liked but didn’t love down to Elliot or Linus. Which do you prefer? And opinions on both would be very welcome

Linus seems very “red neck” to me- sorry I don’t know how else to describe it

I’d choose Elliot. Linus reminds me of the whingy kid from Peanuts.

Not keen on Linus but don't know why. I personally wouldn't go with Elliot as it's overused where I am but otherwise an excellent name IMO.

Ooh didn’t realise there was such a strong dislike for Linus.
concerneddad I’m pretty sure both are fairly normal names- especially Elliot

But any other suggestions would be great as well- we also quite like Theodore nn Theo but don’t want him to be one of 5 in his class

I would definitely go for Theo.

Linus & Elliot are both as wet as a bank holiday weekend.

Really like Isaac and your list made me think of Felix for some reason which I also really like

What's wrong with Linus. It's a perfectly normal name in Scandinavia.

OP, go with whatever you like. Your names are completely 'normal' and nothing too far out of the ordinary. Some people will like them, some people won't!

I have never heard of the name Linus and really would think it is some sort of computer program!

I have an Isaac, and Linus was on our list. We also liked Dominic, Hugh, Ivo, Sebastian and Wilfred

I love Isaac.

Isaac & Theo are both great names.
