What do you think to Lydia? It’s the only name that I’ve suggested that DH likes. TIA xx

I like it - very sophisticated. Makes me think of the character in The Rivals, and of 'Love for Lydia'.

Disfordarkchocolate · 05/01/2019 11:56

Lydia and Lyvia are two of my favourite names. Both sophisticated.

Starshapeddreams · 05/01/2019 11:58

I love it, it's on our list if DC is a girl

GreenTulips · 05/01/2019 11:58

Loads of them round here so quite popular

m0therofdragons · 05/01/2019 12:02

Dd1 is Lydia and in year 6 at primary. She's the only one in her school of 500 dc. There are a couple of others in the area but older dc. I love it - classic, not overly used but not crazy either.

ShadyLady53 · 05/01/2019 12:02

I love it. It helps that I’ve only ever worked with adorable little Lydias!

WhereHaveTheyGone12 · 05/01/2019 12:09

I love it! It’s our name for DC1 if it turns out to be a girl. Classic and underused - in my area anyway.

daisypond · 05/01/2019 12:18

I like it a lot.

MikeUniformMike · 05/01/2019 12:25

Lyvia is awful.

iveneversaidanything · 05/01/2019 12:45

Chlamydia

WhatASmashingBlouse · 05/01/2019 12:53

I like Lydia but it does always seem a bit wet to me. Probably because I know one who is a bit of a drip.

Lyvia is awful and not a real name! It's Olivia.

ShadyLady53 · 05/01/2019 12:55

Lyvia is a very real Italian name! Like Cinzia or Chiara. It’s the name of Colin Firth’s wife, not made up at all 🙄.

PaulHollywoodsSexGut · 05/01/2019 12:58

I like it a lot, weirdly feel the opposite about it to a PP, it’s a very very strong name although i associate it with goths (Lydia Lunch)

If I had a baby girl born 31st October I’d be very tempted

Emelene · 05/01/2019 12:58

Absolutely gorgeous. I would have used it if the -a sound didn't clash with our surname...

Astronica · 05/01/2019 13:03

Lydia is good.

3out · 05/01/2019 13:05

Love Lydia. I think it’s quite a pretty but strong name.

Luckingfovely · 05/01/2019 13:18

It's gorgeous

Disfordarkchocolate · 05/01/2019 13:33

Lyvia is definitely a name. I heard it on the wonderful Inspector Montelbano. Sounds even better with an Italian accent and slightly bowed legs Smile.

haverhill · 05/01/2019 13:35

Love it. My favourite Bennett sister.

pleasegotowork · 05/01/2019 13:37

I love it. And I know a 10 year old Lydia who is a sweetie.

DramaAlpaca · 05/01/2019 13:38

I've always loved it, it's classy & elegant.

CloserIAm2Fine · 05/01/2019 13:39

It’s lovely and classic

Lidlfix · 05/01/2019 13:40

"Yes, Aunt Lydia". Anyone who's read or watched "The Handmaid's Tale" will shudder at Lydia.

Tinty · 05/01/2019 13:42

I like Lydia. But is is not more common to be Olivia rather than Lyvia?

How about Imogen or Astrid.

ZebraKid71 · 05/01/2019 13:55

I really dislike the sound of Lydia
